• I actually tried these skin pads from Ulta by Studio Gear.  The Beta Hydroxy Exfoliating Pads, I think.  They were ok but for $30 a jar I really don't think I want to by them again since I didn't see enough of an improvement.  What else do you ladies use to help get your face smooth?

That's the starter set.  Then I think you get charged like 39.95 a month for it and it comes every 8 weeks (or 10, I can't really remember and don't keep track).  The starter set has smaller amounts of more of their products but the stuff you get on a regular basis is really all you need - chest and neck cream, day cream, night cream, eye cream, and cleanser.  They'll also send random gifts once in a while - to try and get you to buy things after you try them :)

For me, it's a leeeeetle pricey, but I don't mind paying for it because I think it's important to make investments in things that make you feel really good about yourself.

I just started using the St. Ives Green Tea scrub this week. I like it so far and it smells really nice. I got it at CVS for $5 I think. I used to use the apricot scrub by St. Ives, but I felt like it was doing more bad than good to my skin.

Green Tea has all kinds of antioxidant properties so I might look into that.  I've always had problems with my skin.  Its never really anything like cystic acne, but I've never had that smooth texture that everyone covets and it drives me batty.

I feel high maintenance because compared to those that hardly wear any makeup, I sound like I wear a lot for my everyday face. The only time I don't wear makeup is if I'm just hanging out at home or going running.

My AM face routine-
-Rinse face (sometimes I'll scrub with Arcona's Cranberry Gommage exfoliating cream) then apply the following in this order:
-Arcona AM Acne Serum
-Arcona Magic White Ice moisturizer mixed w/SPF 40 tinted moisturizer
-Philosophy The Supernatural loose powder
-Eye shadow (usually a light shade like cream or taupe)
-Thin line of Dior black eyeliner on lower lids only
-Diorshow Blackout mascara
-NARS Orgasm blush
-Lip balm (Philosophy or Smith's Rose Bud Salve)

At night I wash my face with Arcona White Tea Cleanser, and then apply either Arcona's The Solution PM Acne Serum or swab my face with one of their Triad pads.

Yeah...I sound high-maintenance.

This is probably because I suck and have great skin, but any type of exfoliant works wonders.  I used proactiv for a little bit and their cleanser is very grainy - my skin was always smooth as butteh when I was using it.  Now I'll just get a random exfoliating mask and scrub my face with it once a week or so.  Aaaah.

Thanks, Girlie.  I actually cut the Studio Gear pads in half too.  Otherwise I would have been really upset by how quickly they were gone for the money I spent.  They did help smooth me out a little but not enough to justify the money.

I feel the same way. Now that I've actually started taking care of my skin and wearing makeup, my routines have become considerably longer, which is the only downside. But if it means I'm going to look younger, I don't really care.
• Mehg, you're not alone.  I'm such a make up junky though that I never wear the same shades two days in a row (except foundation and powder).  I have a divided 14"X14" case for my liners, mascaras, lip stuff and blushes and then a giant bag just for eye shadows and a pint glass holds all of my brushes (it's packed).

Proactiv is the debil. Their stuff works, yeah, but after a while the skin on my face became like parchment paper. And it always bleached the hell out of my towels and pillow cases.
In Response to Re: Can we do something? : Wait, so they charge you monthly but only send you stuff every other month? I don't like that deal. Seems shady. I am looking into Wen because of you though. How long does that usually last you?
Posted by SarahPLiz
They do it monthly because it makes the payments smaller and more manageable.  I think you can choose a payment plan.

I always run out of Wen before I get a new shipment - but it's because I have to use more since I have a ton of really long ass hair.  I started using it every other day and using sulfate free shampoo and conditioner on the other days, just to make it last longer.

If your hair is oilier - make sure you try the Cucumber Aloe (I think that's what it's called) scent of Wen instead of the Almond Mint.  Musu tried Wen, but used the Almond Mint and said it actually made her hair grimier - and it makes sense, since her hair is a bit more oily.  The Almond Mint is great for dry hair, and since curly hair is dryer, that's what I use.
