'Crocs' and 'business' should not appear in the same sentence.  They are not acceptable office attire.

  • Yeah, I hate it when people wear crocks on their feet. Those things are for making french onion soup, not putting your feet in.

  • Do you mean Crocs?  Because you cook stuff in crocks.  Or if something sucks, you can say "that's a crock of shiit."

  • I have a pair that I wear when I'm in the garden or working outside my home. It's easy to rinse feet & shoes at the same time. I would NEVER wear them in public

are the worst shoes ever made.

    Besides these:

  • I took the train to my parent's house yesterday and my mom picked me up from the station wearing crocs without socks. I admit I told her something about it. She laughed it off. Luckily she never wears them in public except for this time.

I HATE CROCS. I don't have a problem if you wear them in the garden (since that's what they were made for) or even around your house. But do humanity a favor and ditch them in favor of something supportive and decent looking, mmmk.
  • Hahaha OBX thast too funny. They're are even more of an eye sore then crocs

What's even funnier is that I'm a die-hard Texas Longhorns football fan and the girls at work said I should totally wear those under my wedding dress to freak FI out....he would die laughing.

I mean could you imagine seeing someone where those in publc?  ohhhh nooooo!

  • When I was waitressing in college, I served an entire family wearing matching red Crocs.

I wish I was making that up.

  • Every time I see people in Crocs in public I am DYING to ask them "so, was it too difficult to put on real shoes?"

It's right up there with wearing pajamas to the bank/grocery store, etc? I was so annoyed one by being subjected to a woman in tattered PJ's and NO bra in a bank once that I said to FI (loudly) "what is wrong with people, does it REALLY take that much more effort to put on real clothes."

I judge people who are too lazy to put on real clothes when out in public (unless in the emergency room).

  • You know what's awesome?

When you wear crocs out in public because they're the only comfortable shoe after a foot injury, and then everyone judges you.
  • Has anyone seen those Croc-like shoes that have individual toes so they look like feet?  I saw that at the mall the other day, they're weird looking.

  • Every time I see Crocs first I say EW! Than I think of Fischy because she's the only awesome person I know that can wear them.

And Achi- I also really judge people that cant seem to get dressed before they leave the house. Have some respect.

  • I'm guilty of wearing crocs to work. When I worked at B&N, they were the only shoes I could wear for 8+ hours while being on my feet running from the front of the store to the back and all around.  I couldn't afford the fancy mcfancy orthopedic shoes.  We weren't allowed to wear tennis shoes and any other shoe aggrivated my plantar fascitis.  I personally don't think they're any uglier than some of the fancy shoes I see out there.  But I also shop at Walmart, so what do I know.

Anna- I'd never have laughed at your Crocs.

  • Don't own crocs, never will.

I think they are kind of cute on little kids.
On adults in public? Hell no. At work? Uh, absolutly not.

  • Vegasgroom, do you mean Vibram five fingers?

They're fuggo, but I hear they're the new trend - to help with "barefoot running"? Personally I'd rather run in sneakers.
  • Found them, they're called Vibram Five Fingers:

I didn't realize they were for sports too.  Wonder if you have to buy special socks, seems like they'd get all funky inside.

    Thank you.

Sometimes comfort really does need to come before fashion.

I love them for little kids honestly. They are great for playing in the water out in the yard and stuff like that. Actually wearing them into public is another story though IMO. Kids don't know how to step around things and their feet can get into some raunchy stuff so I would rather not have them wear them out and about.

    Edited for clarity.
  • I saw a guy at the DMV wearing those Vibram Five Finger things.  It was weird.

I see a lot of MDs and RNs wearing Crocs at work.  I totally get the comfort thing - you can be on your feet for 12 hours or more.

BUT I would never wear them to work.  At least not the ones with the holes in them - come on.  You can get any kind of body fluid in there, easily.  Do they make non-holey ones? I'm off to research.

  • True Story: My Cousin's wife wore them for their wedding last Sept. She sat down in front of the entire church, her dress came up out came the white crocs.

I wonder if my Coach sneakers will get the same gasp response she got that day?

Besides for injuries I think there are plenty of alternatives, however I am guilty of wearing them pool side.

i cant say i ever notice what people wear on their feet, nor do i care. i think its incredibly rude to even think of saying something to or near a complete stranger regarding their freaking shoes for the purpose of making them feel like shiit
  • Funny story about wearing them outside. I worked at a tubing hill (winter, snow tubing) and this family was on vacation from like CA or something and they wore crocs to the tubing hill. I flet bad for um but really, its snow how does it sound like a good idea to wear shoes with holes to a place with snow.

Side note-Don't vist MN in the winter, it sucks.
