Boo laundry monster :(

I did a ton of laundry yesterday.  After I put in a load of Em's stuff, I realized that I wanted to change the blanket thing we have on the floor for her to play on, so I threw it in the washer after it started and laid the 2nd one down.

I threw everything in the dryer later, but didn't get to fold it all until well after Em went to bed.  After I folded everything, I realized that the whole blanket was gone.  GONE.

So, I thought that maybe I chucked it in her hamper instead of putting it in the washer, even though I didn't recall doing that.  I didn't want to wake Em up, so I looked this morning.

It's not there.

Where the eff could it have gone??!?!?!?  It's not anywhere.  Not stuck on the wall of the washer, not in the dryer, not on the floor.  WTF laundry monster?

I did this with my keys at the grocery store. I managed to lose them walking a whole 50 feet into the store and back around to the cashier. Turns out, I had dropped them, and just didn't look at the right angle, because a woman found them for me in like 30 seconds.

Thats all I've got. Sorry,poor Em's blanket got eaten by the washing machine monster.

Any chance you washed pillowcases? I don't know how big the blanket is, but H once "lost" a prized shirt of his that got wrapped up inside the case and I didn't realize it.

Other than that, I have no idea. Maybe it fell out of the basket and landed in some weird place. Or it got thrown behind the machines when you were aiming for the center. I do that with socks all the time.

My GF recited a story to me the other day of a rug that she washed that went missing, as had several other items, socks, etc. So she pulled the dryer away from the wall, and opened the back up only to find things were disappearing in between the drum, and dryers outer wall. She had to lay on the floor,and reach in a grab things out,only to see something that looked like her missing rope rug. When she pulled on it it was actually a dead rat that had climbed in from the outside.

So maybe have you DH look for it, that's the moral of my story.

I dunno, I threw it in with all baby stuff, so it was the largest thing in there.  We have a front loader and I put it in after I started the load, so it's not like I was just chucking stuff in. 

This is driving me nuts...I don't lose stuff!

I guarantee it's somewhere random like... the refrigerator or the trunk of your car. Sometimes I get absentminded and end up putting things in crazy places when I try to multitask. You'd be surprised.

Jenna- I have been known to put my phone in my fridge and take my cheese blocks and put them in my purse. talk about absent minded. 

sucrets- I too have been victim of the laundry monster, however, I have found some taken objects in the tube thingy that goes from the wall to the dryer, and in the tiny crevice between the washer and dryer, its profound how large items can squeeze themselves into such petit spaces.

Yeah our front load washer pulled things between the washer wall and drum.  Then the Sears warranty people tried to tell us it was consumer error because we didn't put our clothes in "washing bags."  wtf is a washing bag you ask?  Beats me.  Obviously that argument didn't hold up and they had to pay to fix the washer lol.  Moral of the story?  I hope you have a warranty so they can pull the stuff out?

hahahaa that's awesome. I once found a Kraft singles slice in my purse that had obviously been there for weeks because it was as hard as cardboard. Gross.

DH also found a bandaid in the refrigerator last night, I've been carrying them around with me and I guess I replaced whatever I took out of the fridge with a bandaid I was holding. So weird. He was like "Um, babe. Can you come here and explain this to me?" haha oops!

I am a firm believer in "pregnant brain and new baby brain". I promise yoiu think you put the blanket in the washer but you really didn't. It is going to be in the craziest place and then you will remember what really happened. Have fun cause this usually lasts until the baby is about 18 months old. LOL!!

WTF??????  I just opened the dryer and it was in there.

?????????  I swear it wasn't there last night.  I even cleaned out the lint trap and everything!

I constantly loose things of Cam's in the washing machine. Sometimes I wonder if FI plays tricks on me, as they always manage to show up in some random place OTHER than where they should be.
