Sigs over thebump/thenest/theknot

Question,

Are the sigs for your accounts consistent across 3 sites or do they vary with the different site? I thought they were the same but just noticed my Bump sig was my knot sig pre-changeover and now I'm confused. I've been lurking over there but don't want to flood them with wedding pics, or you guys with bump info.

  • Yes, they are different. Thank you, Katie, for not sharing your ovulation ticker with us ;)

  • Yep, they recently changed and are now different.  I have a different ticker that has Em's adjusted age on it so that it's clear when I'm asking questions.

  • Ha! I won't have an ovulation ticker. If I start posting though I'll probably put up the mc, months ttc, etc though. I know I talk about babies/pregnancy a lot and try to spare you when I can ;)
  • Oh, I don't mind talking babies at all. I'd just rather look at you and your H every time you post than to be reminded of menstrual cycles and related happenings.

  • Haha :) Agreed. I think if I had to stare at my ttc history every time I posted it I would get way to depressed anyways.  I should go look at my weight loss ttc board, but we had a huge amount of "Omg it's my first cycle and I just KNOW we're going to get pregnant and I love puppies!!!!" posters lately and they kind of drive me batty.
  • Is TN and TB the same?  I don't post on TN, so I have no idea.

  • Eh, I was that way for a while too Petra. There are a few girls on the ttc board who have been there slightly longer than me. At this point we're completely comfortable talking about each with each other, just because it's a monthly thing. It definitely makes your body a much more clinical thing and not as personal, for better or worse.

It actually helps when you have questions about stuff.  But not the stupid Bump tickers that are based on a 28 day cycle...the ones that are linked in with the Fertility Friend site are much more accurate.

  • But ALL women have a 28 day cycle Undecided  One of my ttc buddies runs a 45 day cycle regularly. I don't know how she does it.
  • edited August 2010
OK, ladies. I'll open my mind here. Lord knows, I'm not a sweet young thing and we're trying immediately because of a rapidly narrowing window. I'll certainly come to the ttc board when the time comes. And thanks for the heads up on Fertility Friend. I'll check it out.

ETA: a 45 day cycle?! Holy Odin!

  • Yeah, I'm crossing my fingers for her every month. She's 30, her H is 32, and so far no doctor can find any health reason for why she isn't getting pregnant, or why she's having the 45 days cycles.
  • 45 days? That would be awful.
    image
  • If it makes a difference, she's still only getting her period for 7 of those 45 days. It just sucks for baby making.
  • She must be so frustrated. Poor girl. I was having a ~45 day cycle like that, but then I started bleeding for longer and longer periods. I kept ending up at the ER because the 'cramps' were overwhelming. It was a whomp of morphine and send me home until the 4th hospital. They did an US and found something suspicious. Turned out to be a growth on the interior wall, and the pain was because it had twisted. Six months of hormone chemo, induced menopause, reverse menopause (yeah, I'll get to experience it 3 times by the time I'm old) and a freaky surgery later and they patted me on the head and said I could go get pregnant now.

    HUH?!

I wasn't very happy, because I wanted the simpler/cheaper hysterectomy because I'd never met a man i trusted enough to have children with. In retrospect, I do believe I'm happy they put me through it, because I met my FI. Him, I trust. Anyhow, because she's so young, she still has a reasonable amount of time for them to find and fix the problem, if possible. I hope they can.

  • Yeah. She just got a new puppy, and as stupid as it sounds that's been helping a little bit.

And now I'm watching Glee on the DVR. I forgot how hilarious the season was before their break. It's the episode where Rachel falls in love with Shu, and Quinn's parents find out she's pregnant.

Wow, Petra, that a whole lot of stuff going on in there.

We only have 2 more months until we can TTC, not trying so much as not trying to avoid, but I'm a little nervous. The first time I ever conceived, about 8 years ago, was a mistake, and it was really too easy, but I'm still worried since Im older now.

Edit: Accident, not mistake. I regret the connotation there. All it took was one time, though, and it took, though not for long.

  • We've got 3-6 months before my doc recommends testing, but I really hope it doesn't come to that. I've been doing my research and I just don't know if I'm mentally strong enough to handle it :( Secret confession for the day right there.
  • I agree that o-tickers have no place on TK and I'm glad that there are finally separate sigs.

FF is great and it's free.  Check out their site and sign up for the lessons if you want to learn about charting.

  • Sarah- It sounds way more dramatic than it really was. I just kind of felt like the docs were more worried about my ability to reproduce than what I wanted. Like I said, in retrospect, I don't regret it.  Also, I didn't read that connotation into what you wrote. I see why you corrected it, but no judgment here.

Katie- Time for a puppy? (just kidding) Try not to worry. 3-6 months is still a good amount of time. If you can stay relaxed and not let yourself get too stressed, it might even happen during testing, if it hasn't happened by the time you get to that point.

Haha no puppy over here any time soon. Now that my dog is feeling better she's as close as a puppy as far as behavior goes. I'm completely retraining her and she's a crazy bundle of energy.

Can I admit something? I really want a baby RIGHT NOW. We are not in the financial position to afford it though AT ALL so its not even an option. Thats part of why this whole job mess is making it even worse because it pushes our financial (somewhat) stability even further into the future. :(
  • I'm glad to hear she's doing better. Good job retraining. I'm a fan of constant reinforcement training throughout a dogs life.

Alrighty then, FI informs me that supper is ready. I'm out. Have a great night!

absolutely nothing. My boss was in the office for a total of 8 hours the entire week, and suppliers have been calling all week because cheques bounced and they want their money and he refuses to call them back so they keep yelling at me. I dont even know anymore. I feel like the universe hasnt given me a break in a couple of years, and it sucks. BUT... everyone has been really supportive lately and it just makes me really appreciative of what I DO have. I dont have a lot, but I have that, I guess.
  • Ugh, I had a boss at PetSmart that would do that. I wasn't a high enough manager to authorize a lot of the customer service things, but I was "the nice one" so they always sent me in first. I would then tell my boss to do the follow up calls and get things straightened out and he never would. 2 weeks later and they would start screaming at me for never telling him they were there. Yes, I did, you suck!

How is your H's comic stuff going? Has he had any good leads or started working on projects, even personal ones?

And omg...Animal Hoarders is on Animal Planet and it's horrible! There must be 50 dogs in a 1 bedroom house :(
  • ugh, I hate irresponsible bosses.  Whenever someone screams at me on the phone, demanding my supervisor, I transfer them.  He then comes and asks why I transfered them? Oh, sorry, was I interrupting your facebook time?

There is one supplier that has called atleast 3 times everyday for the past week and she has told me she is going to keep bugging me until he calls. IM NOT THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF FINANCES!! annoying me will just make sure I just dont answer the phone.

His comic stuff is ok - he has been finishing up pages for the hardcover that comes out in a few months, and working on a little project they are pitching at NYCC in october, but thats about it! Its been really great seeing him lately. We are watching date night right now :)
