Snarky Brides

Long Day Question

So I just had my butt kicked at work. It wasn't even the long hours, more just the intense nature of the day. I came out on top and my boss was psyched but I need to unwind in a major way. I already started a mini dance party to Yolanda be Cool because I am so amped up/

Anyway, what are your good ideas you use to unwind after a long day? If you are thinking alcohol please be specific :)

Re: Long Day Question

  • Stacey- house cleaning, impressive!

I like to take my makeup off too. It is very satisfying.

[QUOTE]LTZ -  I have a five minute commute and I used to have a 45min one. I almost miss the jam sesh rides home. But not really....

I know! Mine used to be about 35 mins and now it's only 10 mins. But I just play 3 or four songs halfway through to get my fix. I get home before FI, so I'll pop my iPod on the speaker dock and jam out at home while I clean or take a shower.

The I pop open a bottle of wine. It's the best!
  • I love car concerts.  FI can tell what kind of day I've had based on if he comes home to music or silence.

This is funny because I can tell Mike had a good day if PTI is on when I get home. It is a really good day is the house is cleaned. It is a bad day if a horrible comedy is on and his eyes are closed on the couch :)
  • Use that energy to your advantage - go run for 15 to 30 minutes, and then do all those things that others have posted :):)

I do love this idea. It was a gorgeous day out and I freaking love fall in new england. However, Mike wanted to show me the next months budget sheet. Buzz kill huh? ;)

Just have an extra two glasses of wine then. It's hard to kill that buzz. Trust me.

    *sigh*. Fall.  It's gorgeous.
  • LTZ - I hear ya!! Dance party part two coming soon!

Nates - how far are you from the CT border? Is it a train thing for you or a car thing?
  • I like to sit in bed and watch horrible TV and light a really good smelling candle and do nothing. If no one is home I blast music through the house and try to cook something edible while making up a dance routine.

  • You guys can take your short commutes and shove 'em! :P

Normally I don't mind the commute, just if I need to be home for whatever reason. Like when Demon was lost and H called me. It sucks to be 60 minutes away when something bad is happening at home.

Yeah I hear you with the long commute. And somehow I knew I'd get this little tiny car while my truck is in the shop. I hate it!

I like the idea of a hot bubble bath with candles usually some new agey spa music with thunderstorms, and tropical noises. And a nice glass of wine. In fact I think I'll go do this now.

  • I recommend a long cuddle with one or more furbabies. I was away for a week back on the east coast, and I drove 14 hours to get back to Milwaukee today, and the cats are ridiculously glad to see me, and they keep snuggling on me. Is nice.

  • I drive 30 minutes to work, in the morning when I battle my way through the freeway its more like  40-50. It gives me more time to jam out. I sometimes like it when I leave work during rush hour because its more music time. I sound super weird.

  • Yeah, I think at the end of the school year I'm going to start looking for something closer to home, unless I miraculously get a decent raise. I love my job and it's been a nice break but I'm beginning to think the commute is not worth the pay. We also need at least one of us to be within 30 minutes of home once kids come into the picture.
