lbarr, I wanted a doxie soooo badly.  Then I started reading about all of the back problems etc that they are prone to and it scared me from getting one.  Which is kind of silly, since EVERY breed has problems of some sort that they are prone to.

  • I collect snowglobes. I love those things, except now I'm afraid that they will start a fire. Someone linked a story to me and I became all paranoid :P
  • I guess that's what it is, hot stuff. You can be around all you want. B/c You don't suck.

Sarah - I have 2 black lab mixes. One is a Lab/Pitt mix and he sheds like no other dog I've ever had. I love doggies.

Speaking of doggies - you have a happy on your FB wall, Mrs. Nates. (I'M SORRY I SPOKE ABOUT FB!)
  • Dachshund.

I have a dachshund-beagle mix and one day he couldn't walk. I was so scared he was having back issues, but it ended up being a sore muscle or something. They gave him a cortisone shot and he was cool, but knowing the breed issue, it was scary.

I think you are probably pretty safe on the fire thing from the globes. I mean what would be the odds. A short in the fan or a candle would be way more likely. I hear ya though any time I read odd things about something crazy happining I get paranoid too.

  • Dark chocolate gelato with a shot of Bailey's over top.  Heaven in a bowl.

I suppose Gem doesn't count as a superhero?

I have way too many food issues to have anything odd to list.

  • I collect...movies, I guess? I love movies and it makes me happy being surrounded by them.

I want a long-haired doxie. They are adorable.

<div>Oh wow, that's so scary! Poor doggie :( I'm glad he was ok!</div><div>
</div><div>My old dog Cassie died while laying in a chair next to H (BF at the time).  We knew it was going to happen sooner or later though (she had CHF). One minute she was laying there all fine, and then she just drifted off.  H didn't even realize it, I was the one who noticed that her tongue was sticking out weird and I went to check on her and realized she wasn't breathing. </div><div>
</div><div>I now have an irrational fear that this will happen to Lucy, even though she's only 1 and she's perfectly healthy.  I sometimes put my hand on her while she's sleeping just to make sure she's breathing ok.  That probably makes me seem like a crazy person. </div>

  • That is sad about their backs, but I hear if you keep them from getting over weight and jumping it helps.

Labs are prone to cancer and pitts are prone to mean people problems. I think all breeds have something. I always worry about my pups. I probly baby them way too much!

My cousin has a great dane and they are pron to joint issues. Her great dane just recently had a hip replacement because of it. I felt bad but the picture was kind of funny. She had a head cone and a butt sling. Poor doggie!

    Stop giving me things to worry about!! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />

NHo, but seriously, the people with the fire had lined all their snowglobes up in front of their windows, like idiots. The glass worked the same way as a magnifying glass when the light was shining through. I just eye my snowglobes suspiciously :P

LDY, how dare you! I will check when I get home :)
  • I LOVE mint chocolate chip or cookie dough ice cream.

I can't eat anything sour- it makes me cringe to think about it!

I don't collect anything but FI has a pretty good movie collection.

This thread makes me want hot dogs, ice cream, and candy.

    :(
I can't lie, I do the same. And I don't even have the sad backstory you do, so I definitely don't think it's crazy. I just watch him sometimes and he doesn't look like he's breathing. It's weird.
  • Yall are making me pariniod about my dogs now.

That is crazy about the snow globes. I use to have the lint from my drying in a container infront of a window and I heard that it could ignight from the sun, freaked me out. I take it to the kitchen now and put it in that trash.

[QUOTE]Ice Cream:  Coconut sorbet. Comic Book:  n/a Odd foods: I started munching on raw egg noodles the other day.  It was kind of good. And do you collect anything?  Vintage snoopy, mostly ornaments. ETA: This is most of the collection:

<div>I know! Lucy looks like that sometimes too and it freaks me out.  But I'm glad to know I'm not the only paranoid dog owner out there.  They are definitely part of the family :)</div>

I'll have to get you a a California Snow globe Nate's.

Jcb- We were just at Knott's a few weekends ago. I was looking for ornaments and they didn't have many.

I took a short lunch so I can get my work done earlier. FI got us tickets to tonight's game and I have to go home and change really quick.

    Edit
  • I should of skipped lunch, but I met my Dad. When I am done at work I have to go tell my other Great Grandma the news on my Nini. No one wants to tell her over the phone and so I said I would do it. Besides they are the same age so I have like a feeling of urgency to see my Nana since she is here.

    Oh downer sorry people!

On a happy note, my dog learned how to open the refrigerator all by himself!
