Heck no.  I'm still amazed my husband wanted to marry me.

EDIT: after reading the article, it's a great personal empowerment move.  I don't think I would have thought of it, but I'd have done it.
  • She kind of reminds me of the woman who "married" the Eiffel Tower. Strange.

It is true that pit bulls grab and hold on. But what they most
often grab and refuse to let go of is your heart

  • How... special.

  • She didn't get enough hugs when she was little

  • I would totally marry myself, but luckily, I don't have to.
  • There was a lifetime movie where a chick did this.  But she ended up marrying some guy in the end.

  • I find myself to be the ideal mate, however, would totally not buy myself a dress and throw myself a wedding.

She realizes no one is ever going to actually marry her now, right?
  • I was going to marry myself, but then I thought "Why buy the cow when the milk is free?"

My first impulse was "yes, I'm an awesome GF I'd marry me." Then I thought it over some more and realized I'm hypersensitive, bitchy, rude and down right unbearable at times, so no, I would not, not really sure why FI does, but that's her problem lol

  • Or what if you had an affair on yourself.  Betraying yourself like that is unforgivable.

I guess this has it's benefits. She doesn't have to explain to herself on the night of the wedding that she's just too tired to consumate the marriage.

Kinda... she made a registry for herself to get shoes because her friend was a biatch.

And no, I wouldn't marry myself.  I can be a downright pain in the arse when I want to be.  My poor fiance.  He deserves a medal.

<div>This made me wonder about other benefits.  I mean, does she get to decide whether to pull the plug if she's a vegetable?  What about insurance?  What about custody of the kids???</div>
  • Does she get a tax deduction for marrying herself?

  • I would try.  I like the idea if i didn't meet FI,
I would have no problem marring my self and throw a big old party to celebrate it shoot.
I know I deserve it, and I am worth it.

    Surprised

  • Did she do it so she could register, a la SatC?

And hell no, I would not. I'm surprised anyone else wanted to, frankly.
