Morning?

Anyone else out there yet?  It's quite chilly here today, and I'm loving the fact that it's finally fall.

On a wedding-related note, I think we're almost all wrapped up!  Sent out a ton of checks and money this week for final vendor payments.  Chose our songs (finally) and decided on flowers. I'm picking up my dress tonight and (maybe) dropping it off at DB to be pressed. I just need to make the escort cards and print the programs.  I think that's about it? What are some last-minute things I'm probably forgetting?

Re: Morning?

  • Good Morning, Ladies.  I'm leaving for work now.  Cheddie is much better - fever is down, but he still has a raspy voice and does not like his medication.

Great news on getting all the WR stuff done, Steph.  Put a little sewing kit in your bag, along with some safety pins.  You never know who will need something tacked or pinned at the last minute.

Morning, hopefully your post won't disappear like numbers' did yesterday. Congrats on the wedding stuff and your dress! I'm the last person to ask about to-do stuff though, I was not a good planner.

Today is a bit of a cluserfck. 7:30 and already there is mass confusion about a training going on today. The time has been changed 3 times, only a few people were made aware, schedules were altered without telling anyone, some people didn't even know about it. What a mess. This should be an interesting afternoon.

I also have to make an appointment for Whisky at the vet. Last night I noticed he was holding his mouth weird, and when I checked there are two growth things on the same area, on either side of his bottom jaw. Impacted teeth, growths, infection, I have no clue. He's perfectly fine eating and behavior wise, but I'm getting them checked out anyway.

ETA--glad Cheddar is doing better, Les!
  • Yay for getting stuff done. Don't forget to take care of yourself more than normal right now. Get as much sleep as you can, and eat well. The one thing I warn everyone about is really watching what you eat the week of your wedding. My friend ate at her favourite restaurant a couple of days before her wedding and ended up with food poisoning so bad that she was only released from the hospital the day OF her wedding. Yeah, that was a special time. ;)

I'm staying home from work today because I've felt terrible on and off for two weeks. I don't know what it is, but hopefully I can get into the doctor's office today.
  • Morning.  I didn't sleep very well last night so I'm downing coffee right now hoping to wake up.  Hopefully it will be an uneventful day.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Ah, Steph, its getting close!! For some reason I still feel like I have plenty of time. I think its denial.

Good morning all! I'm so sorry for all the sick kitties.

I'm trying to get out of the house fast this morning so I can bring my car in for maintenance and not be TOO late for work. Probably won't happen, but I'm 1000 miles over due and the little light is bugging me. Plus, my dad offered to buy my car for his GF some time after Christmas, so I kinda want to make sure I'm taking care of it. I'd keep it forever, but her car is dying, and he wants her to have something reliable. This also means I get to pick out a new (used) car. I'm thinking a wagon, so i have enough room for my bike and a kid or 2, without having to get a land barge. I don't know, i have time to think about it.

So y'all have a nice day! Hope the kitties get better!

  • Good morning!  Aww Steph that's so exciting!  We are going to finish boxing up all the wedding stuff this weekend and labeling the boxes so the venue knows what to do.  Then next week work on all the favors. I have a feeling I'm going to regret doing our favors because they are going to stress me out (caramel apples so they have to be done last minute).

And I'm jealous it feels like fall where you are.  We had fall weather and then because we are stupid Florida it went away - or well, goes away by noon everyday lol.  We're havinga firepit at the wedding during cocktail hour so I hope it's at least cool outside!

  • All these WR checks are awesome. They remind me that I don't have to deal with all that ever again! :)

I'm sitting here in the dark. My den light just flickered and went completely out. It's a mod, curved track light with 5 bulbs, and the entire thing just flickered a few times and died. WTF? I don't have time to deal with this! I'm printing references and learning the product line for a company I have an interview with tomorrow. I neeeed light!
  • Good morning!

I'm at work. You know that woman that I hate? She brought in cookies from the bakery and offered them to everyone but me. Fvcking hoar.

Too bad she didn't. Then you could have said, "Do I LOOK like the kind of person who eats cookies?" Just to be an ass.

My day is starting off shitty. My grandfather is back in the hospital so I have been a nervous wreck. I got up at 5am to pack myself breakfast lunch and dinner for a full day of school.... it was all home cooked and weight watcher approved. It was in new tupperware. It is now enjoying a trip on the commuter rail without me. FML.

and steph- dont forget to take an evening... have a good dinner and a glass of wine with your FI. Enjoy these moments :)

  • You guys are so funny. I love to start my day like this.

Les- is the medicine pill form? We use the pill pockets at PetSmart. If it's liquid I'm no help. Glad he's feeling better.

Sesh- Is Whiskey jealous cause Cheddar is getting all this attention? Give him a kiss and tell him to feel better. Let me know what happens.

Jen- I like Sesh's idea. She does sound like quite the b!tch, does she know you dont like her?

He must be, you know how he is. Maybe he's faking for attention, because he seems to feel fine. Eats like a pig, runs around, cuddles. Perhaps weird gum growths are just a part of being an old man.

  • Whisky is such a handsome old man.  He just wants attention.  Cheddar's medicine is liquid, administered in a dropper.  The vet says it tastes good; he won't mind it.  Um, no, he's not happy about a dropper full of pink liquid shoved in his mouth.  At least he's feeling better.

I hope your day gets better, Star.  Vibes to you and your Grandpa.  And the adventure your food is having without you.

  • les- lol thanks. I told the train man he could give the fruit and veggies to the homeless people outside but he just laughed which made me sad. I will end up picking up bad food tonight and having to toss out stuff that could be eaten by the needy. annoying. the homeless people sit about 10 feet from their office.

  • Sorry about your grandpa, star. I hope he gets better.

Les, if you put the dropper in the corner of the mouth it's easier. For Whisky, anyway. Also, hold his mouth closed and rub his throat to make him swallow. I'd much rather do liquid than pill, personally.
  • sesh- our vet told us to put the pill in Snowflake's mouth and flow on her nose to make her swallow. It seemed so cruel. Plus shes smart and stores the pill under her tongue, Even if you check her mouth and it looks clear she spits it out a few minutes later

  • Good morning!
Star, I will pray for your grandpa too...and sucks about your lunch!

    Steph, excited for you!

Sesh, hope that the growths are just a part of being an old man..
To add to the liquid vs. pill thing: I think I would rather administer a liquid to a cat. When my cat was sick, I had to give him a pill and it was ridiculous because he was so sneaky. It took about 20 minutes.. I'd have to get him in my lap, hold him down while prying his mouth open, then throw the pill down as far as I could get it.. Then hold his mouth closed while I rubbed his throat. Half the time he'd swallow, making me think the pill had gone down, then he'd spit it out. Argh. I miss that little guy though.

I am hoping my work day flies by today. I have a lunch date with a friend (the same one who got mad that I didn't ask her to be a bridesmaid- this is the first time we've really talked since July) I hope it goes okay, I miss her. Also, have a banquet tonight for a non-profit org. that my stepmom used to work for. She is speaking, so should be nice. I just hope the food is good.
  • Good morning ladies. I woke up in the bitchiest mood this morning, and I'm still on my first cup of coffee, so forgive me if I come across a bit more bitter than my normal self for the next few hours.
