my FI and I have been together for over a year, engaged for about 5 months. We're getting married in November. My FI is from a small town where he's very active in volunteer positions and knows everyone from his town. He's always been the "good ol guy" and has lots of friends but I'm concerned about a particular "girl" who is friend of his.
They've been friends since high school and are still friends. When we first met, she used to text him and send him fb stuff all the time. aWhile none of it was ever out of the way, I feel like she used to have something for him since she acts differently around him than she does when I'm around. I'm not concerned FI whatsoever but it's starting to get on my nerves.
Prime example. He went over to visit his group of friends who had just moved into thier new home and she was there. She procedes to hug him and act like his BFF and be super giggly and happy to see him. 15 minutes later I arrive with him (i had to wait to get off work...) and she totally ignores him and when I speak to her she ignores me and stands off to a distance keeping a good eye on me. WHAT?! Really?! I want to be friends too and we've all hung out plenty together. I've voiced my concerns to FI but he says she never has done anything out of the way and if she ever did he would definitely put her in her place because he didn't want anything to come between us.
I'm not being jealous, just concerned. I don't like the drama and I feel like she talks about me. I just need some reassurance here...
