We went to the adoption event last night and were able to take home two beautiful little guys. I'm hoping to have pics to post later, but they're on DH's phone, so it'll have to wait a bit.
One is a twelve-week old orange and white boy, who was named Vanilla by the shelter. We'll be changing his name, partly because he only answers to Vaneller (we are in Boston after all), and I refuse to call him that. He's ridiculously energetic, fun-loving, curious and always wants to play. He's adjusted really well to the bedroom we're using as a safe room, and has ventured out into the rest of the apartment a bit too.
The other is an eight-week old black and white cat named Chaos. I'm thinking of renaming him Cyclops because of the white patch right between his eyes. Chaos was really sweet and cuddly after we got him calmed down at the adoption event, but since bringing him home he's been very nervous. He spends most of his time under the bed in the safe room, and doesn't want to eat (he drinks plenty of water, though) when we can coax him out. DH is worried sick over him.
I know it's natural for cats to be nervous in new environments, but his refusal to eat is scaring us a bit. Has anyone dealt with this before? Should we put a food dish under the bed for him? Leave him alone?
Edit: Now with craptastic photos. Forgive Vanilla, he moves too fast to get a good pic.
