Hi everyone!! I've lurked on this board occasionally and it seems like a fun, down to earth board. I didn't want to begin creepily posting, so I've decided to introduce myself, first

SO tell us about yourself. Why is your engagement so long?

wowza, that is long, thats like almost twice as long as mine.

We are both in school and want to finish up before we get married so we decided to hold it off until afterwards.

I'm working on my nursing degree. My FI is working on a degree in marketing and economics. We both go to school in upstate New York.

Nursing is certainly a very marketable skill. Very smart!

So how much wedding planning have you done? Approx guest list number?

Nebb: The Rochester area. It's kind of between Buffalo and Syracuse.

SarahPLiz: Not too much planning yet. It seems a little too early. We have our venue! Approx guest list about 200 people.

Ello.  Don't worry...mine was 2 years. I got engaged Nov. 28th 2008. I'm less than 6 months at this point.  I"m not gonna lie, there are times when it doesn't fly. We had such a long engagement for the same reasons as you.

We had a VERY light dusting, hardly anything at all. For some reason we dont get hit with lake effect, its something to do with the escarpment between erie and ontario and we just dont get it. My dad/brothers live further west (london ontario) and got WOLLOPED this past week.
