cakes..The Cake Guys?

Has anyone here used the Sweet Inspirations Cakes from The Cake Guys ? I know everyone on here loves them but this is a budget friendly package lol .The bad thing you sign the contract before tasting ...so I would really be at their mercy. ( but I have not read one negitive thing about them )  Also anyone use Delicious Cakes from Southlake ? Their Pink Champagne sounds wonderful

Hey girly! I am doing the sweet inspirations package from them and I felt the EXACT same way that you did. But I went out on faith and from all the positive posts and went ahead and did it. The cake is ABSOLUTELY awesome - and when you pick up your tasting they give you a HUGE amount of cake - you have plenty to taste with and compare fillings with. Also, because I was unsure I asked if "what if we don't like the cake after we've signed the contract" - I of course asked in a nicer and more polite way than that. Anyways, the person was super nice and even said "we'd refund your money if you absolutely hated it - but we've never had that happen - not to be full of ourselves". Literally, exact response. I laughed. But in the end - he was right and it was awesome and I highly recommend it. HTH

Hey  cehubbard.. Do you know if they allow changes to the colors ???? Like the flower color ..it says you may change the ribbon but nothing about anything else ..My guess would be yes but you never know ..no changes could mean no changes Thanks !

I've already had my tasting and it's delicious.  So don't worry about that.  I am really jealous--they didn't have this package when I ordered my cake.

I had been to Romano's and had a tasting scheduled for Society Bakery but we stopped at The Cake Guys.  We didn't think we'd find anything we'd like better and I was really happy with the design of my cake which Chad did right there for me at my consultation.  Honestly though, these "cheaper" cakes don't look much different then mine--except for I'm having rhinestones instead of pearls. We are having white, tres leches, white with raspberry filling and chocolate with chocolate ganache filling.  These were our favorite flavors at our tasting.

Sounds to me like its a pretty good idea / plan then . I know I want a four tiers thought about five but that is not offered. I would like to know if I can change the color ..like have the pearls or whatever other than white , my guess would be I could but you never know . This and the dj is all I have left ...well besides the little stuff which really is big lol. Oh well I will give myself till tomorrow to decide and thanks for the info ! Boy its quiet on here today ..

I am doing the "budget cakes" here and LOVE them! I also emailed Chad and since I am all over DFW for work, he let me swing by, pick up some cake and take it home- before a contract. Trust me- you won't be sorry!! My FI doesn't even like white cake and loved this. I swear once piece of cake was the size of an Acme brick! You can change the colors of ribbons and color (I think). The big thing is you can't change the size of cake. I am getting the B&W cake with the swiggles (with Tiff Blue ribbon) and my FI's cake is the poker table. :) See pics in bio. BTW- the cakes at their store are just amazing looking- true artists!! Sooo excited about this cake and I'm not usually a cake person. LOVE THEM! Totally worth the drive to Duncanville. With delivery, not going over my cake budget that much and we got the biggest cake in the package. GL!!

Not to sure which one I would want yet that depends on the color issue lol. It is good to hear that everyone really like them makes it easier to try it this way ! I would do the 150 guest package ( we are having around 200 ) so that place the grooms cake should be enough . Plus we are having a dinner and alcohol sooo....I think that size cake would work . So you are going with the 175 guest package ...Are you making any changes to your cake  ( color wise ) ...the scrols look brownish / black  and you said blue ribbon ...I bet it will be really pretty !

I'm getting Cake J, which is already a white cake with black squiggles and changing the black ribbon to Tiff blue.  They don't place toppers on the cake and I don't want flowers on mine.  I'm looking for a BIG blinged out H.  :-)Good luck!!
