Any other lurkers out there?

Re: Any other lurkers out there?

  • I mostly lurk.

Where are you getting married?  Same place the reception is, a lovely banquet room at one of our favorite restaurants.

Who's your favorite SB?  Blue, she contributes to my lurking because she normally posts something I am thinking so no reason to post it.  Thanks blue!

How long have you lurked? Since I joined TK.

Favorite food?  Anything cuban, japanese or, oddly enough, kosher.

Care to share a yummy recipe with us?  Mmmm, stout braised short ribs.  Recipe is from the Williams Sonoma website.  Boil your short ribs in a slow cooker in beer for 8 - 12 hours...mmmmmmmm.

Care to share a yummy recipe with us? Hawaiian Porkchops

    8oz can of pineapples slices
    1 teaspoon nutmeg
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    4 porkchops

Place the pineapple slices over the porkchops.  Mix the juice from the pineapple with the nutmeg and brown sugar, then spoon the mixture over the chops.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes covered and then 20 minutes uncovered, basting or spooning the juices over the chops occasionally.

  • IWhere are you getting married? I am now an old married hag...got married on 10/16.

Who's your favorite SB? Hmm...not sure yet.

How long have you lurked? I have lurked a bit on and off in the past year, but started a bit more prior to the wedding for some comic relief.

    Favorite food? Sushi

Care to share a yummy recipe with us? I made this yummy chocolate cake a couple of days ago...not sure of the name but it was delish.

1 box Devil's Food cake mix

1 small box instant chocolate pudding

    1 cup sour cream

    1/2 cup oil

    1/2 cup warm water

    4 eggs

    1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

combine all ingredients except chocolate chips in a large bowl and beat for 3 minutes. The mixture will be thick. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into a greased and floured bundt cake pan and bake at 350 for 50-55minutes. cool 20 minutes in pan, then remove from pan.

I make a quick glaze for it using sour cream and melted semi-sweet chocolate.

  • Hi Anna.    I'm in Cedar Rapids right now but will be moving to Fort Dodge with the wedding so not that far from Rock Rapids and my in-laws are up on the Minnesota border in the Buffalo Center area.

I haven't yet but I'm looking forward to getting to know that end of the state better.  Its usually too much of a pain for me to travel back and forth 2 1/2 hours with an almost 13 year old Siberian Husky so I tend to make FI do the bulk of the driving.  I can't wait for this Spring for us to finally be living in the same place!
