Neighbors

FI and I have lived in 2 different apartments since we first moved in together a few years ago. We also seem to have at least one strange or crazy neighbor.

In our first place, we had an apartment above a business. There was only 2 apartments there so it was just us and the couple across the hall. Well, the day we moved into that place they really showed us what we were in for by having loud, obnoxious sex for about an hour. At first we were just giggling like idiots and turned the TV up louder and didn't think much of it. But it continued to happen about 4 or 5 times a week, for the whole year that we lived there. The guy would even come home from work, walk in the door and no lie, 4 minutes later they were going at it. It was just...crazy.

In our current apartment we're in a complex. The neighbor next door is a single mom with two twin boys who I'm guessing are about 12 years old. She is constantly screaming at her kids or screaming at someone on the phone. One time I walked outside to go to my car and he had her windows open and she was screaming at her kids and they were screaming right back. Lots of obscenities from both of them. Another time, a close friend of mine came over and when she walked in she said this neighbor was outside screaming with another woman right in the parking lot.

So I guess my "type" of neighbor is the "screamer", just for different reasons.  : )

So, my question is...have you ever had any weird, obnoxious or crazy neighbors and what did they do? Storytime!

Ugh, yes.  Apartment living sucks (in terms of neighbors right on top of you--I like it for other reasons).

Both of our neighbors are extremely loud.  One guy has random, mid-week parties and just repeatedly screams "Whooooooooooooo!"  all the time.  Like, ALL THE TIME.  I'm not even sure what could be going on that constitutes so much "whoooo-ing".

The other neighbor has issues with the stairs.  It literally sounds like he's falling down them at least four times a day.  The first time, I ran downstair and out the front door to see if he was okay.  The guy downstairs from him is this super sweet old man and says he hears that guy fall down the stairs at least tne times a day.  He's also extremely loud in the bathroom--I can hear him slamming things around when I'm getting ready for work.  Not really sure what that's all about.

We only have 1 neighbor now, but they are old and quiet.

In my old apartment, the people above me started their parties at 3am that went until 10 or so. Eventually I started calling the cops on them every single time because the music would be so loud my pictures would fall off the wall. And when you have class at 8am, parties in the middle of the night really piss you off.

my roommate said she could hear people having sex on the other side of the wall in her room. Like, a headboard banging and a girl moaning.

I had a neighbor that was obsessed with Michael Jackson. That, in and of itself, made her a weirdo in my book, but she would also come over to my house, drink all of our beer and insult us. Well, she just did that once. We never let her back in after that.

She and her husband broke up over facebook. She found some naked pictures of this girl he was having a cyber affair with and she hacked into his FB account and posted them on his wall. They are crazy. The worst part is that they have two really small, sweet kids.

I hate them. I'm so glad they moved away.

Blargh. Bad neighbors. The ones going at it like bunnies are much better.

I had neighbors that fought constantly. Husband wanted everything.little.thing. his own way. Flipped his shiit if his step daughter ate the food on her plate in an order he didn't like. Wife was constantly coming over asking me if I thought she should leave him. My answer was always the same. Yes.

Haha, now I secretly wish he did slide down them.  I don't want him to get hurt, but just scared enough to learn how to properly use the stairs without making so much noise.

I've had a couple interesting ones. There was a family above us that sounded like elephants. You could hear every footstep, every jump, etc. They had a 3 year old boy so he ran around and jumped a lot. Normally I ignored them but towards the end they would actually shake the ceiling so badly that shiit fell off the walls. That's when I started banging with the vacuum tube.

In my college apt my neighbors were apparently crack dealers. I found that out when the H'burg SWAT team knocked on my door to search my apt for a high powered rifle. They had apparently shot at a cop car.

I did feel bad for one of my neighbors though. They recently had a baby and it was colicking very badly. She would cry non-stop for days and when I saw them outside once I commented and the lady said they have worked with their doctor and had been trying everything but nothing worked. One day they had a note on their door "Shut up your fvcking baby or I'm calling CPS", the next day "Shut up your kid or I'm going to shut it up for you", etc etc. It made me really mad because they were a really nice couple, and didn't deserve that kind of stress.

We lived above this old hairy fat man in our first apartment together. Him and his girlfriend would have very loud sex every sunday morning, 8 am sharp. Unfortunately I knew what his "sex sounds" sounded like...

Very often in the afternoon you could hear him making sex sounds all on his own. It was absolutely repulsive. There is NO reason you need to be that loud jerking it.

I hate neighbors when theyre that close.

Yeah that couple that lived next to us in our first place was so over-dramatic about it. There were banging noises and her screaming and moaning. They even woke us up on a few occasions at 2 am during the week - which is amazing b/c FI sleeps through just about anything and neither of us are happy people when we first wake up. I recall one of these times he woke up so pissed off and went tearing through the apartment looking for a Metallica cd that he could blast to get back at them.

She was pretty gross to, to be honest. She must have been pretty desperate to date THAT, the sounds he made were absolutely insane. Imagine a dude making the same sex noises a chick does in a porno, but louder. I would NEVER put up with that.
