Re: It's early, but Plan for tonight?

  • DH is about to leave for work until 11, and my one friend in the area (we just moved here) is out with her BF. So, I'm sitting here, feeling mildly sorry for myself, and trying to convince myself to go out and do something, even if it's by myself. Pity party of one?
  • Awww Poli, I'll join your pity party! Too bad we're nowhere near each other in geography.

Charlie is asleep right now, but he'll be awake in about an hour and a half, at which point I will feed him this awesome new pork chop recipe I found, and then he'll be off to work all night. And it'll just be me and the cats. Le sigh.

But hey, at least I'm working on my wedding website, which is rather fun.

    Our Story MAJORLY UPDATED 8/6/09
Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • I don't have any specific plans. I thought I was going to do something today, but I'm perfectly content just lounging on the couch and watching the ALCS playoffs.

Maybe later on we'll rent a movie and I'll get some laundry done. Maybe.
  • We are just watching football and I am contemplating centerpieces. I bought a bunch of glass vases and such at a garage sale put on my a local rental company. I have no idea yet how I'm going to use it, but I made some pretty good guesses on our missing RSVPs and did the seating chart so I know I only need 8 tables.

FI and I are also tasting wines tonight trying to choose for the wedding. We went to the store today and they tried to convince me not to get the local winery I wanted, for all the wines. He suggested a different local winery, but their white has a green nyquil aftertaste, so we aren't going with that one. We'll probably taste the reds later today or tomorrow. Should be fun!

  • We will probably do our ever exciting netflix movie at 8:30 and asleep by 10. Bor-ring. Although, I am about to head out to take dear puppers to the vet so hopefully he'll be better.

  • I've had a massive headache all day and H isn't feel well either, so we've literally done nothing all day except watch TV and nap on and off.  Now we're trying to figure out dinner and then we'll probably just stay in and watch a movie or something.  Hopefully we'll both feel better by the morning cause we're going to brunch and pumpkin picking with friends tomorrow.

  • Sarah that does sound fun! I thought of taking old wiskey/wine jugs and adding marbles and a few long stemmed flowers but... FI picked out plates with gemstones and 3 diff size candles.

  • LP sorry to hear your not feeling well! I get migraines so I know that feeling.

  • Sarah, please say hi to Charlie and kitties for me. I'd love to see your wedding website if you feel like sharing!
  • I'm sitting in the living room watching The Holiday on tv and going back and forth between the knot, FB, and writing lesson plans for the week.  I'm also drinking some wine, so that makes my boring afternoon marginally better.

FI gets off work at 7, so he'll hopefully be home in time to do something tonight.  Maybe dinner and a movie.
  • Poli I understand the being new in town thing. I am recently new to our town too. The friends we are going to see are friends from FI's HS/College Job. Should be interesting. BTW is poli your name? LOL

  • I'm not sure what I'm doing, but right now I'm watching the Michigan game and eating potato chips. Later will either be
    1) Work on Halloween costume
    2) Work on the book I want to start
    3) Work on my Christmas afghan
  • Probably gonna start putting up Halloween decorations shortly. FI's messing around with the moulding on the stairs, so I'm sure that'll keep him busy for a while (and out of my hair while I decorate lol).

As far as later on, there's a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge with my name on it. And an episode of Biggest Loser on the DVR that we missed when we were out of town.

  • Katie I want an afghan
    *~* Mrs.J *~*
  • I'm making this one big so it's going to take forever, but I like it so far :)
  • my mom and aunt used to make them. :-( I have some that were FI's grandpa's though.. lol
    *~* Mrs.J *~*
  • My wedding present from my great grandmother was an afghan she made that she had started when she heard I was engaged. She passed away at the age of 99, 4 months before the wedding (and 1 week after receiving a Christmas picture I sent her in the mail of me in my dress) and I cried when my grandmother gave it to me with a note from my g-grandma.
  • We just got back grom grocery shopping. H is cooking pork tenderloin and mashed potatoes and gravy. Then we're going to watch Jonah Hex. I'm still bitchy and have been all day, so hopefully dinner and a movie will cheer me up. I also bought a Cosmo at the store because reading stupid sex tips and embarrassing stories usually takes my mind off bad moods.
  • Mmmm mashed potatos...I think we're going to watch How to Train a Dragon as soon as I can turn off this stupid Michigan game. Yes it has gone from a normal Michigan game to a stupid one. I feel like football games take for freaking ever to finish.
  • They always take forever when they suck, or when your team is losing. But when it's a close game it goes by way too fast.
  • I've got a cinnamon struesel cake in the oven. They were supposed to be muffins, but I want cake. I'll be cooking Hamburger Helper in a few, bringing my mom some and curling up on the couch with my babies. J is at the camp until tomorrow, so I get to watch whatever I want without sighs and complaints. Cool

  • This is true Sesh. His team is getting spanked so that doesn't help. It's also on the dvr so he keeps rewinding to see the plays twice...sigh...
  • chichi your dogs are so precious!!!

  • Thanks Soster! They're my babies =)

  • Went to a Wedding Expo today.. Think I found a venue that I really really like, so I'm excited. The Events Manager was awesome, and I think we clicked, cuz she asked me to email / call her this week, and we could grab a beer and talk. :) I really hope FI likes it, otherwise, back to the drawing board.

Other than that, I'm working until 830, and then going to the gym for the first time.. I'm sort of nervous. Hahaha.
  • I have 2 dogs that are my babies too. Well 1 is "mine" and 1 is "FI's" LOL. I used to have a yorkie but he likes to bite small children(FI has 2 children) so my aunt took him in for me.
    *~* Mrs.J *~*
  • Aww, that sucks about your yorkie. I have no idea what I would do if our dogs don't take to our (future) children. But our 2 began as Tito (blue) was J's and Daisy was mine. But they both follow my every move, so J gets offended and says their both mine. ;)  He loves them both, though.

  • Soster, sorry I missed your question earlier! No, Poli isn't my name, it's Sarah :) But I don't mind being Poli on here.

I decided to go out on my own to an adult scavenger hunt that I heard about online. It will either be wonderful and amazing or I'll end up chopped up inside a burrito in the Mission. We'll see...
  • Poli, have fun! J is broadcasting and interviewing some NASCARBS all day and night, so I'm on my own. I'm bored to death and sick to death of being lonely. I hate this damn place.
  • Aww Bec, I'm sorry. I know you don't know me, but I hate that your alone and lonely. I hope things get better for you.
