Snarky Brides

Marriedinafever

I just read your post about your brother.  I am sorry for what he is going through.

My husband had this happen to him when he was 18, and then 3 more times in the next four years.  The doctors ended up having to remove his lung from his body, cut off a part of it and put it back.  He now has masive scars on his right side.(This was 12 years ago when it happend the first time)

Tim and I have talked a lot about this time in his life, and he tells me that it was horrible and the only thing that got him through was his family.

As a warning, this may not be the only time, as apparantly it is common for it to repeat at least once.

Your brother and your family will be in my thoughts, be there for him (I am sure you are already), he will be in a lot of pain for awhile.

Take care.

  • Thanks a lot, Lab. I appreciate the support and kind words.

I heard the lung has something like a 25 percent chance of re-collapsing. But hopefully that will be reduced with surgery. I'm not sure.

Sorry to hear about your H's experience. Apparently this is strangely common. Glad to hear he's re-covered now though!
