Snarky Brides

Nevermind.

I know I'm doing it wrong, but I feel about posting this and with the recent Knot crap don't want it hanging out there. Thanks Jas, Sesh, Pirate and Shorti :)

Re: Nevermind.

  • Families suck sometimes. And it blows that it's so inconvenient for your first week.
But, at least Scott gets to see his brother, right? I guess there is a small silver lining among all the pain-in-the-assness.
  • I mean this in the nicest way possible, but BIL choosesto live far away. You guys can't be expected to drop everything when he is here. Of course you want to see him, but you have jobs and responsibilities. BIL should be sincerely thanking you guys for all you do for SIL and niece.

  • Yeah, but only for 30 minutes which kind of sucks. It's his sister's husband but they've known each other for over 12 years.

I'm trying to decide if me not going with is a super biitch move.

Ok now I'm really annoyed, I'm watching Glee and we just had the stupid "warning system test" come on the tv, which means I just missed the entire Sectionals music ensemble. F U Comcast.
  • Yuck.  Is Maine more family visits or just vacation?

Is he at least going to an airport nearby?  DH's family has a tendency to fly out of NY, NJ, Philly, or on occasion Dulles.  All of which are much, much further away than BWI which is already over an hour's drive.  BIL had to pick up their aunt and uncle from NJ for our wedding.  That's probably 4-6 hours on the road for one airport pickup.  Their cousin and hr H flew in there too but at least they got a rental car.
  • Your BIL sounds like my FSIL.  She can't come into town without creating a scheduling nightmare for everyone with her demands.  I think it'd be OK for you not to go.  It's pretty short notice, and pretty inconvenient.
  • Just vacation, since he wasn't able to come home for the 4th of July.

Dulles would be the closest one which is about 45 minutes from our house. S would have to drive 1 hour to their house from ours, then would drop him off on the way home. If he's flying out of Reagan or Baltimore we're talking 2+ hours each way.
