Evening Thread?

Evening.  I just got settled in at home.  Work sucked balls today so I'm looking forward to a short day tomorrow and the weekend.

WFD?

I'm thinking chicken picatta with asparagus.

Re: Evening Thread?

  • Hi : )

Still at work. Dinner will be some leftover chicken breast from last night before I go to my boxing class.
Its been a helluva week so I am going to hit the crap out of the bag.

Sorry you had a bad day too..
    image
  • Boxing sounds fantastic right now.  I used to do that with my personal trainer but I had to give her up when we started planning the wedding because of the cost. :(

  • Good evening. We're just watching "Remember The Titans" and drinking some wine. We had lime & garlic marinated flank steak, pasta w/pesto sauce and veggies with parmesan for dinner.

I just got irrationally excited over our new garbage can from BB&B. It has one of those silent-closing lids, which is awesome, because my H is loud as hell when he's getting ready in the morning, so this will help diminish some of that noise.

  • Oh wow, 1 month to go for you!
Well, maybe after the wedding you can get back into it.

Where are you guys going on your HM?

  • I'm tired.  I have either a cold or allergies.  It sucks.  I also don't have insurance until July and I don't have any sick time available until September... sweet!

Dinner is probably grilled cheese.  Yes I know I'm supposed to stay away from cheese but whatever.  Tomorrow is Friday and I'm so pumped to  RELAX this weekend.
  • Hi.  I just got home from picking the dog up from the vet.
Dinner is carnitas, it's been cooking all day and smells amazing.

My insane neighbors are currently screaming bloody murder at eachother. Awesome.

We have one of those, and it had two sides: garbage and recycling. I love it!

  • Evening Ladies.

It's taco night here in the old casa because it was way too hot an I was way too busy to do any kind of involved dinner.  I like easy dinner night.

I'm disgusted guys.  Like seriously vomitously disgusted.  So my sister is a bit of a hoarder.  Always has been.  We help her keep on top of it and every few months badger her into a cleaning fest to get rid of all her clutter.  My mom offered to pay me cleaning fees to go to my sister's  house once a week and get it under control.  Today was day one.  I would have to write the most epically long post ever to amply describe the state of that house.  Long story short, I took my niece.  She's not going back there until I deem it habitable.  I just sat in the bathroom and cried for a half hour.  it's been that kinda day.
  • Good evening, ladies.

No big plans tonight.  Watch some TV and relax.  Been working more than normal lately, and my body is effing tired.

No idea WFD yet.  This is about the time I whine and pout because I can't figure out what to eat and I don't feel like cooking or leaving the house.  Probably by 8:00pm I will be hungry enough to give in and find something.

I also just read the Knot Lili thread, and that was freaking hilarious.  I think I got a big, fat, LESBIAN crush on her now.

  • Gosh Anna :(  That sounds like a lot.  At least your niece is now in an environment that is clean and probably way more healthy.  Do you think once everything is really cleaned that it will stay that way?  Sounds like a tough job for you to constantly do.
  • @ anna

That sucks about your sister (and especially your niece).  That sounds like my grandma's house.  I go visit her occasionally to clean, but I can only make a dent.  The house is a nightmare.

Im texting with someone from work and its pissing me off. This afternoon I asked one guy if he wants to go for lunch tomorrow and we decided on a place, and another guy owes him 2 lunches so we asked him to go and he said yes and then another guy wanted to go too so we had all planned to go to this restaurant for lunch. Then we found out that because all the sales staff met their goal on friday they were getting free lunch (its an incentive) so we didnt know what was going on. After I left it was discussed between the other, stupidfatbitch and another coworker. The owner suggested one restaurant and my coworker said no and that me and others had already been planning to go there before we knew the sales staff was going to get lunch so the owner suggested somewhere else. The restaurant we were going to is too small for ALL of the staff to go. Stupidfatbitch starts throwing a fit insisting that they should still go there and make us go elsewhere and coworker and boss said that wasnt fair and refused to do it. She only threw such a fit because I was getting my way and she couldnt get control of the situation. I bet you guys any money she will do something to screw with me tomorrow as "payback"

<div>That's true, I let things slip a lot.   But then again, when it comes down to it I can be really anal about cleaning.. like REALLY anal.  I think your sister and niece are lucky to have you :)  Glad you made some progress and hopefully when you return it wont be too bad.</div>
  • Anna that is crazy. I am glad your niece has you to look out for her.

lbarr - I'm glad you're around again and I like the new sig.

Dinner was going to be something with chicken thighs but FH wanted Japanese and offered to pay so who was I to argue.

<div>I gave her 5 very simple tasks to complete before I go again next week.  I've got my fingers crossed they'll be done.  Each should only take 15 minutes are are no stress- because they shouldn't involve throwing anything away at all.  Just organizing.</div>

    Oh anna, that sucks :(

Nebb I would be really frustrated having such a crappy coworker that constantly bothers you.

We just ate some five guys, and I am currently looking at memes. Right now, it is Successful Black Man. <--- clicky .fucking hilarious.
  • Brandi- that looks awesome! Enjoy!

Anna- Eek, Im sorry :( that was so nice of you.

Nebb- I would be so annoyed. Go into work tomorrow and kick her in the shin. :)

  • I'm sorry you're going through that, Anna. I'm a nutcase about cleanliness, I can't even watch the show "Hoarders: Buried Alive" without getting severe anxiety. I can't imagine having to deal with that IRL. Yes, my H is messy, but it's not extreme, so I can handle it. I'd probably have a panic attack if I were in your shoes. I commend you for helping out, though, you're awesome.

And in your sig, is that a Kinder Surprise she's cracking open? I love those things. I don't know why the chocolate tasted so good when I was a kid. I had it again when I "grew up" and it tasted like butt.

Yeah, she really is just a terrible person. Shes not like that only to me though, so plenty of people know whats going on. Its just management (her son/DIL) who are blind to it.

  • Evening!

Anna, I'm sorry you had such a rough day.  If your sister truly is a hoarder, do you think she would be open to seeing a therapist about it?  Usually there is an underlying cause/factors of hoarding tendencies that need to be addressed, or else the mess will just pile back up again.
