AWing/Gleeful exuberance!

FI and I had a wonderful visit, sadly over too soon. However, FI checked the website on our visa status aaaaand...

On September 1, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE.

FVCK YEAH! This means I should be getting a letter soon telling me *what to send back and THEN when my interview is, and then (hopefully) I get my visa!!! I have a surgery booked for the end of November that I need to stay for, but once that's done I can finally move back in with FI. It's such a freaking relief to just hear something back since we filed at the beginning of June.

SQUEE!

We also found out that FI's best friend of 20 years is having his first kid! His wife is due in March, and these are our first really close friends to have a baby, so we're really excited. So it's been a pretty good week!

How's everyone else's Labour Day been?

Re: AWing/Gleeful exuberance!

  • Congrats! Thats all great news:)

  • Yay, Sunrise!  I know you must be so excited and relieved!

I just got home from a mini hike with FI and the dog.  Now it's back to doing dome grad school work with my group and then finalizing lesson plans for tomorrow.  What fun :(
  • Hurray! It must be so nice to see a solid light at the end of the tunnel :)

H and I are watching The League of Extraordinary Gentleman but that's about all of our excitement for the day.
  • That's awesome all around, Sunrise.

I'm just sitting here at home in Jersey immersion (Jersey Shore, Jersey Couture, and Jerseylicious) waiting for FI to get home from picking out his tux with his groomswoman. He's been gone for a few hours, and she called me to see what color vest I wanted him to wear, and whether I wanted it to match my dress or my sister's dresses or what. I haven't heard from them in a while and I am afraid she has lured him into Niemans to BUY a tux, which was her original idea, and the greatest waste of money, like ever, for us. But I trust him. I won't call. I hope he comes home soon because I'm hungry.

  • Thanks guys! He says by the looks of it, this means about another 6 to 8 weeks-ish. Hopefully it will go smoothly and he'll be able to come up for my surgery and we'll get to leave the day after. I'm so happy.

On a related note, I spent most of yesterday and today watching The Big Bang Theory. This show is awesome.
  • Congrats! When our friends got married last year, the wife had to get her visa (also from Canada). It took forever and was such a hassle. Glad you're about through with yours.

H is at work for at least another half hour. And his phone is dead, so I can't even call and bug him with random questions to entertain myself. I am so damn bored I painted my toenails just for the hell of it. And am watching Sex and the City on HBO. Yes, I'm that bored.
  • Yay, thats exciting :) Woot.

I've been recovering from that car accident since Saturday - I was going to to checked out today, but when I woke up, I was able to sit up without having to manually support my head.  So I'm healing already.  I'm going to play it by ear these next few days.
