how's your day?

Re: how's your day?

  •  Any-I have to agree with J&K, I'm as lazy as it gets so I know how hard it is to get motivated to work out. But when I joined Sparkpeople at my height and weight as it is (5'4, 165 when I started) it calculated my daily calorie intake as between 1250-1550. You really shouldnt go under 1000, you body goes into starvation mode, and you end up storing fat.

    Start eating m'dear,you worry us.

  • Any, you should come join some of us on SparkPeople.com :) It has a nutrition plan that takes everything into consideration, including exercise. You can put in there "I dont exercise at all" and it say "Ok you need to eat this many calories".

    YGPM back =)

Thanks everyone. J&K linked me a calculator and I realize now that under 1k probably isn't the best, lol. Just so tired of seeing my dress that I can't even do up halfway, it bothered me more than I'd like to admit. I won't go all crazy anorexic on you guys <3

We worry, just think of us as your surrogate mothers via internet. And I know how you feel, I lost 16lbs when I moved up here, but after the wedding the jeans are a little snug again. And it doesnt help my DH works out everyday. Makes me feel even lazier.

I'm glad you are seeing that you need to eat more, lady. :) I just checked your wedding date and you have 10+ months to fit into that dress! I think you'll feel so much better to do it in a healthy and fit way, especially for longer-term results. I did it last year before my wedding through exercise and 1200-1500 calories/day (depending on which days I was working out), and I lost 20 lbs. in 4-5 months while gaining muscle. You've got this in the bag, especially if you get on a program!

Yeah, Brandon being a long distance runner who in college was doing 120 miles a week and is still quite active doesn't help with my body image. He's lean and fit and I feel like a blob in comparison.

    He sure is sexy though.

  • YGPM back again, Any.  We're always here for you if you need some motivation or support, or suggestions!  I think a lot of us are going through or have gone through something similar :)

Sorry to turn this into a lecturing Any thread.  I didn't mean it to happen that way.  After my first response to you I was like "Crap, I should have PMed that."

The waiting definitely sucks. But what a payoff. :) And I'm jealous of H, who gets to work out at his job during lunch every day, AND eat lunch. Sometimes it can seem so easy for them! Jerks.

  • Wow I am thinking I am pretty lucky I didn't meet this other mizri lol. No I stayed away from the RenFest wedding. It's actually alot more money and hassle. I am doing a victorian themed wedding a sort of "key to my heart" with skeleton keys and heart locks. And ANY seriously cutting out starch or alot of starch helps lose weight. I kept eating the things I liked just cut out things like pasta (::sniffle::) potatoes, and alot of bread. Starving yourself or crash dieting is so bad for your body.. sure you lose weight but then your body starts eating itself >.< Be careful and all the more power to you! It's hard! and I used to play WoW... but now the thought of it makes me want to hurl lol. I played it while I was recovering for months and quite some time before that. Oh and to sound like a total noob.. I don't know how to put a sig picture up or I would.
  • Yeah I agree. I dont mean this to sound like a lecture either, we do worry about you. And we are here for you if you need us.

Jcb, that sounds awesome and exciting! I've always wanted to do the personal trainer thing.

For me, part of my jealousy of H is that he gets a long lunch, has a free gym at work, and can easily work out, shower, and be back at his desk having lunch in no time. Meanwhile I have no lunch hour (I just eat between clients), have to pay for a gym off-site, and would never have the time to work out and get ready again all within a work day. I just feel like I'd be 75% more likely to work out if it was already in the middle of a busy day. So I definitely own being lazy on my time off, I'm just whining. ;)

DH has a wonderful gym at his work also. So he goes in early 3 times a week to lift. And every other day he does his cardio at home in the basement (I hate the eliptical), so I'm in the same boat. And I would most likely have to work out in the evenings, which sucks by the time I get home its 6pm and dark.

In the summer at least I can go to the park and walk. I know if I kept it up for long enough, I would start enjoying it and be more likely to keep it up.

Sounds great! Though I'll be eating it alone, as H hates avocado, tomato, and Italian dressing, haha!

Kd, those are pretty much my thoughts on it too. I think it gets harder in the winter too when, by 4:30, it already feels like your day is over. I hope you can get back into a routine though, sounds like you enjoyed it!
