WR! A Dress.....

My neice, who is getting married at our house on New Year's Eve has  chosen this dress:

The funny part is, she told me she hated all things Maggie Sottoro. She also had a plan to get a dress made that looked much like my own. Well, I showed her this one online, and she much to my shock wanted to try one on. They had her wee size (2, but they will need to make a little room in the bust). She understandably wanted to post her own pics of her in the sample on her own site, but she looks amazing in it and I wish I could share now!

Anyway, in case you are wondering why the h-ll any of this matters I am just saying don't set yourself absolutely against any desiger or style you might change your mind.

Totally true.  I ended up in a white, strapless dress with pickups, a train, and a fingertip veil. None of those qualities were things I though i wanted when I set out to buy.

Totally agree with you! I have always hated Demetrios gowns, typically I find them very overdone/ugly.

I absolutely hate halter tops because i feel like they make me look super broad shouldered. The sales lady at David's talked me into trying one on though and I loved it. It ended up being the dress I picked. She convinced me initially by telling me it would really accentuate "the girls." I am sure FH will appreaciate it!

Anna, I love that red dress and I am usually not a fan!

My surprise was not in style but shade. I always thought if I wore white it would have to be ivory, but ivory made me look ill. The staff did not recommend it and humored me by saying to try it on but when I did - yikes! In theory, I should have looked better in ivory due to my fair skin. Instead I ended up with what some call "diamond white" - super white!

Oh, and I also did not think I would want overly shiny beading - wrong again! Shiny beads can make white more interesting.

I ended up in a diamond white sleeveless dress by Alfred Angelo when originally I had my heart set on an ivory one shoulder dress from Maggie. You just never know.
