Gimme yer lasagna recipes

I haven't made lasagna in a long time, but I'm going to make it this weekend. I need a recipe.

Re: Gimme yer lasagna recipes

  • I wish I was at home :( Tim makes awesome lasagna but I have no clue how he does it. Homemade sauce and everything. I'm hungry

  • I have one at home, if you still want one later, for meatless lasagna. I remember the ingredients but that's about it. Oh, I also have one for lasagna rolls, which are incredible, and a kind of spinach and alfredo lasagna.

    Man, now I want lasagna.

I can be of more help tonight. If I remember. But I do have some awesome recipes.
  • Has anyone made the Rachael Ray lasagna recipe? I think MIL made it once and while I don't care for MIL, the lasagna was wonderful.

  • I use this one, you can scale it down too...it makes a lot.

It's lasagna's ugly cousin, but tastes just as good and only takes an hour to make.

[QUOTE]We make this one every year for Valentines. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/classic-italian-lasagna-recipe/index.html It is so very good. We do, however, use the no-cook noodles.

I don't do recipes for my cooking, but this sounds the most like my lasagna (made with the simple tomato sauce. I've used both no-boil noodle and the boiling kind. I've found the best results are with the boiling kind when you but the casserole together the night before you're going to bake it so the sauce gets to seap into the noodles more. I also generall make it as plain cheese or with spinach, zucchini and carrots - yum! My dad really like the veal/beef/pork meat lasagna I made once, I though it was foul (I don't eat red meat or pork so it looked and smelled awful to me lol)

  • Your varriations sound good kcullen!

I will give a word of warning though, the recipe I posted tends to cause a lot of gas. But it's so tasty it's totally worth it.

    2 8oz cans tomato sauce

    1 tsp salt

    1/8 tsp pepper

    1/2 tsp oregano

    1 Tsb minced onion

6 or 9 lasagna noodles (depending how many layers you would like)

    1 8oz pkg mozzarella cheese

    1 12oz carton cottage cheese

Cook noodles according to package directions. Brown beef and drain excess grease. Add garlic, Parmesan cheese, tomato sauce, seasoning and onion, simmer for 20 minutes. In large casserole, alternate layers of meat sauce, noodles, mozzarella cheese, cottage cheese. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Serves 6
