Hey ladies -
I don't usually do this but I just wanted to share this story because I figure the more good thoughts being sent the better.
So a friend of mine is in the hospital in very serious condition. It's a ridiculous situation. Basically she got a paper cut that got infected. It turned into a staff infection and then she had an allergic reaction to the infection medication. It's something that happens to about 1 in 200,000 people. Basically the reaction attacks her immune system and her skin. So she has the equivalent of second/third degree burns all over her body. She is currently being treated in the burn unit of the hospital and will be there for at least several weeks. The reaction is very concerning because of the risk of infection and what it is doing to her organs. If she survives it the recovery from the burn will take a very long time (like 2-3 years).
She is such a great girl. We went to high school together and she volunteers for my Relay for Life events now because her mother is currently battling cancer. She has two little girls (3 and 1). It's so scary and sad. So if you are able to send a few prayers or good thoughts her way that would be wonderful.
