Edit : I'm a moron. That's all (but still pissed at him, just a little less pissed after realizing I'm a moron)

  • My husband calls me the money nazi because of how I control the money... but its working. Weve dropped our debt ratio 20% in one years time.

[QUOTE]Hold the phone...I have two furlough days, which should only take 13 hours out of my yearly salary, which should be $7 per check and not $100. Wtf?

    ? Not cool.

  • I thought it sounded familar, Jas!  I'm pretty sure you're right about the real Marie.

I think that's appropriate, Katie.  Jas is right--it affects both of you.  Also, everyone takes the "responsible" role from time to time to keep the other partner in check.  I know FI and I have to do it to each other once in a while.  You're not a nag or "that wife" at all, IMO.

Could your check have retro furlough days from last year?  I know they sometimes don't take things out of my check or pay me for things and then they have to retroactively remove/give the money.
  • Darn, you guys saw it before I edited.

I'm a moron, my pay went through 7 days early, so the credit to account (still pending so doesn't say what it's for) is his bonus, not my paycheck.

That's us too Nebb. He doesn't get why I'm so stingy, but we just finished paying off a huge chunk of debt and don't want to get it back because of stupid shiit like alcohol, video games, or whatever. I think he also doesn't get that if we need to adopt (yeah, I talk about it too much, I get it :) ) that we need to save every penny for at least 4 YEARS to be able to afford it at our current income and spending rate.
  • I'd be a mean wife right about now, and tell him that with every drink he buys he's keeping you from adopting an adorable Korean baby. But I'm mean like that. :P

Or even better " So you just spent 1/2 of a fertility test on alcohol. You do realize that's not covered by insurance right?'

I now have a new favorite word : Pyramidiots. I love Dr. Zahi Hawass. He's awesome.
  • Did you end up killing H, Kristi?

This was my husband. One day he got a bill for his credit card with a 0 balance because I had paid it all off and it was like a lightbulb went off in his head and he said "OH so what youre doing is actually working?!" - yes hun, putting more than the minimum on the credit card and having to do without fun things actually does accomplish something.
