O.k. ladies, I'm taking the plunge and going to look for undergarments today. I've heard so much good about Nordstrom's lingere department, that's where I'm heading first.

I have a budget I'd like to stay in, and a rather vague idea of what I'd like.

Any advice?
Which did you like better? "Jedi" or "The Empire Strikes Back"? "Empire". Blasphemy. "Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.

    Are you looking for practical or pretty?

    I don't know if your a fan but Victorias Secret has good shapeware and right now they are having a sale so you might find stuff super cheap.

     They also have cute frilly stuff.

     I also like Macy's and JcPenny is a good stand by.

    (TMI) DH's sister, who works for VS, bought me a bunch of lingerie as a wedding gift (yes, a little weird, H's sis supplying my lingerie), but it was really nice stuff. Not sure about the price, but the outfits were really cute and sexy (to me anyway, I'm not very adventurous).

    I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with the long line stuff, like is it confortable under the dress, is it too hot (temp) e tc.

    I'm just a regular bra and panties kind of girl, so everyone telling me I have to get a seemingly complicated set of undies to wear under my dress, that I will probably never wear again, is seeming a bit redic.

    Definately bring a pic of your dress, preferably with you in it.  The ladies at Nordstrom are very good with any size or issue, at least in my experience and from what I've heard.

    Also, their anniversary sale starts on Friday, so I'd wait to buy anything until then, as there's a lot of stuff on sale then.  If nothing else, find what you want today, then buy it Friday.  That's what I'm planning on doing this weekend, if I decide that I need anything underneath.

    I knew the sale was coming up, so maybe I will just pick stuff out and buy it friday. I have a pic with me in my dress, so I'll be sure to bring that along.

    No help here. I was able to wear a regular bra and underwear, and no spanx under my dress. Sorry!  Macy's also has a good lingerie selection. I take a weird size (large cup size, not large band size) and can find several different kinds of bras there.

    Spanx get hot and sweaty.  If you get them, I'd suggest bringing along regular underwear in case you want to change at any point.  That's about all I've got.

    OP - if you get cups sewn into your dress, you won't need a bra at all.  I've got a healthy chest and my dress has cups, so I'm going sans-boulder holder on my wedding day.
