I bite my tongue. After all these years of gum chewing you'd think I'd have a better handle on it, second time this week I chomped down on it really hard, ouch, seriously ouch.

Off to puppy class tonight so I won't be thread watching. Have a nice evening ladies!

ETA: I just realized it may come across as if I'm speaking in figurative terms in this post, but I'm talking about literally biting one's tongue, rarely do I figuratively do that.

I'm sporting a nasty bloodblister right above my left big toenail that may or may not heal before the wedding. Thank god no one will see my feet more than likely. I was at my mom's this weekend and her living room is all hardwood, but then the hall is tile. The AC leaked under the hardwood (have no idea how this happened) and warped it, so where the tile met the hardwood, the tile got all messed up and raised. After 17 years of NOT having to pick up my feet to walk into the hall, it was hard to adjust to it and I stubbed my toe every time I walked down the hall. I've got to stop telling stupid stories. I'm sorry. Longwindedly, I agree, nothing is worse than stubbing your toe.

Oh gah. I hate when I stub my toe too. Its usually a long drawn out fffuuuuudddggeeeee as I fall over on the couch. (ETA: while whimpering) For some reason, I always stub my toe by the couch- or on the door jam. ouch

I hate when I burn my tongue or the roof of my mouth. Its usually from pizza or chili. I never learn.

This is gross, and it happens more often than I'd like to admit, but I choke on my own saliva. You know, you just swallow and then all the sudden you're choked up? I'm probably the only person that is stupid enough for this to happen to frequently.

....I get tiny cuts on my fingers.  I got a tiny cut on my index finger while rinsing out a soup can and it hurt to touch anything for days.  Paper cuts are even worse....

I don't do it OFTEN - but I totally know what you mean about choking on your own saliva.  Gross, lol - but seriously, every time it happens, I'm like, what the EFF?!

Something that I do a lot is I knick my fingernails while I'm shaving my legs in the shower, and I look and there's a big, cleanly cut, gaping gash in my fingernail.  And because I'm neurotic I have to cut them all to match.

Also, I got a MASSIVE paper cut opening a piece of mail last week.  Again.  What the EFF.

No mam, you're not alone, although I wouldn't necessarily consider it stupid <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" /> I was at the dentist a few weeks ago getting a cavity filled but wasn't numb enough so he gave me more shots. As he walked out of the room (had to let the shot sit for 10 minutes to deaden) he told the assistant to give me my own spit sucker because if not, I would be drowned in my own spit by the time he got back. But back to your story, I've choked on my own saliva before too.

I do that too! And I've also done it while chopping vegetables with my superbadass home intruder killer worthy chef's knife. On one hand, I'm glad my knife is sharp enough to cleanly slice through my fingernail without me knowing, on the other, I hate having to cut all my other nails to make them match.

You are not alone. And it's usually during a meeting or something when everyone is looking at me.

My H did this is his sleep a couple weeks ago and sat bolt upright in bed in the middle of the night choking. I tell you, being woken out of a dead sleep by your spouse choking is the most terrifying feeling I've ever had. He never even totally woke up, just laid back down and went to sleep again.

Jen, are you on prenatal vitamins? Do you take them at night? I was, and it turns out that taking them at night causes all this acid reflux, and you get the feeling you are choking on your saliva. I was waking up feeling like I was drowning. I mentioned it to my doc, she told me to take them in the morning, and it is gone!
