Helping Out

My cousin offered to help out with my wedding, specifically, she offered to make mints (which I think is awesome because we're having a BIG wedding and mints tend to be time consuming).  I have total confidence in her and am sure she will do a great job (she done them before so I'm really not worried).  When she asked to help, I started thinking of what else I'm going to have to do and if anyone else asks to help what I could ask them to do.  What I am worried about is I'm completely inexperienced with wedding planning and all that jazz.  The last wedding I was in, I was a flower girl for my sister (that was 15 years ago).  It's starting to get closer to my wedding date (110 days! Yay!) and if anyone else offers to help, I just don't know what I can ask them to do.  I know there is a ton of stuff that I'm going to need help with, it's just that right now my mind is a complete blank.  If any of you could give me a few suggestions just to get my mind in gear, that would be awesome!  Thanks in advance!

  • Making mints? This is a new one for me. They are fairly cheap here so I assumed people bought them. I've made them before with powdered sugar, water, and peppermint oil, and if you use an icing bag, they aren't time consuming at all really. I don't get that part.

  • How about I make sure those bitches have a roll length of toilet paper stuck to their shoes as they exit the bathroom? Sure it would make my toilet paper task harder but I am SO PUMPED to take hoes down.

ps- no one is prettier than you
  • Oh Meg. Just for that, I've decided that you are my new best friend. I'm going to drown my current MOH in a pond and replace her with you.

[QUOTE]Why don't you just say "thanks, but I think I've got everything under control"? IMO, grasping at straws to find some little task for someone to do just because they ask is silly.

Sarah, I'm guessing she is making mints that are cream cheese, powdered sugar, flavoring. food coloring and pressed in to molds.  If you figure 3 per person and have a large wedding, making 600 or so can take some time plus it gets tiring and boring.
