It's eveningtime

Re: It's eveningtime

  • LP- buy it slowly. We splurged on a fully living room set when we bought the house, but everything else has kind of been pieced together. Honestly, I think it's better that way- it gives you time to see how you're going to use the spaces. Have fun :)

Chels- I bet you guys could find a house there to rent even. I know my friend was renting out his house there for awhile until he could sell it. And he refused to rent to college kids ;) At least housing will be cheap there!

Sesh- I'm going to forward you an email from my boss one of these days. She has the worst punctuation and grammar and spelling of anyone I've ever known. It's horrendous.

Oh yes. Much cheaper than here.  If we can find a smaller house, we wouldn't mind it.  I'd love to not be attached to our neighbors.
  • We're down in WV for the weekend so I could settle a score with a mountain this morning. We do this hike every year and it kicks my ass. Last time we stopped at least 5 times so I could catch my breath. I only had to stop once today so I am proud of myself.

FH is watching the fights and I am looking for anything I might "need" on Ulta since I am ordering a gift card for my mother anyway.

    Happy birthday Anna!

  • Thanks Les!  I want to try it sometime.  I don't generally like drinking beer, but I do like beer cheddar soup, so I've been wanting to try other beer recipes.

Steph, thanks for the tip! We definitely won't buy everything all at once.  All we have right now in terms of furniture is our master bedroom set, a filing cabinet, a trunk coffee table, and 4 kitchen chairs.  We were in a 1 bedroom apartment in DC, and we got rid of a bunch of the living room furniture when we moved here because it was old and falling apart, and we've been at my parents for the last year.  The new house has 9 rooms, 4 of which are "living" areas (family room, living room, bonus room, sun room), so we will definitely need to take our time in figuring out how we want to use all of those spaces.  We will also have a deck and a patio out back, so we have outdoor space to think about too.

  • Nice! I was going to get MoH a nice robe and some bath stuff. I got the bath stuff already but I'm rethinking the robe. I'm just not feelinjg very giving towards here right now.

[QUOTE]I get that. I'm kind of feel the same way toward my mom but still feel compelled or obligated to pick up some sort of hostess gift. I just have no idea what.

  • Hey, strangers!

I'm here, working on wrapping a present for BIL and SIL's joint birthday. They're incredibly hard to shop for, so we opted to buy them a bunch of home reno stuff (hammers, a level, a Home Depot DIY book,  Snoopy bandaids - lol - etc) since they're getting ready to tackle their first DIY reno and finish their basement. I also grabbed a gift card for a decor place for some finishing touches once they get it all done. It seems kind of impersonal now that I look at all of it, but I think they'll use it - which is just as good as something personal, I think. :)

Nothing else is new for me, but I'm doing my best to catch up on what's new around here. Congrats on the job, Chels! I'm glad you're going to be able to work in a more secure and less drama-filled place.
  • Hi Sept! So the little one decided to keep cooking after all?

  • Pfft, Celtic. It's been a roller-coaster. He's decided to stay in for now, but not for lack of trying to get out. We were back at L&D two nights ago, and they very nearly kept me there because my labour was showing signs of kicking into high gear, but then (naturally) it stopped completely again. I'm so, SO ready for this baby to be born, believe me.
  • Sept - your sig pic is gorgeous.

  • Thanks, Les. :) It's a screen shot from my photographer, but I was getting distressed looking at my old sig. You know, where I had a waist...and feet...lol!
