I heard about it, kd, but haven't seen it.

I'm cool with baby gators. I used to hold them all the time at the zoo for our education classes. But in the wild? No effing way. My brother, stepbrother, and I were almost attacked by 2 of them when we were younger and it scarred me for life. Plus, I swear every body of water in Florida, you have to watch out for them.

Oh yeah, I would definitely NOT want to face a gator in the wild.  There is a little lake at my IL's townhouse complex and there were reports of gator sitings there a couple of weeks ago.  There was a big sign about it.  We didn't see one while we were there, but there weren't any ducks or birds in the lake either, which makes me think the gator was still somewhere in there and scared all the other animals off.

When we were choosing our wedding site at the Plantation son in law almost stepped on one. He finally moved back in the water, but we named him Herb. We now have a sculpture of one in the hallway the artisit signed it and put Herb on the bottom.

There's a restaurant in southern Michigan called Lunkers that has a huge gator in a little gated pond inside the restaurant. He just chills out in there.  The first time I went to FL with H to see his parents, MIL asked me if I'd ever seen a gator before.  I said yes, and she asked "where, in a lake?" and I said "no, in a restaurant!" and she looked at me like I was totally off my rocker.  H was cracking up.
