  • We grilled like 3 times this week.  I love this time of year.  BBQ is my favorite.

That is really cool. I have no idea what my condo land was 200 years ago. That is kind of sad.

  • I was hoping that wouldn't be the case Duds.  They're my wedding nails too.  I'm considering just popping all of them off and dealing with a little pain just to get them off.  I never have nails and have a really bad habit of biting mine.  Like no nails. At all.

Well like I said, im not much of a gardener.  I tired to start from seeds this year and nothing sprouted.  Its all because of the soil and Nebby.

I was so excited when my little seeds sprouted. Usually I just buy them already started, but I managed to grow plants from seeds!

  • Shutter Island was pretty good, though the book was much scarier IMO.  Haven't bothered to watch Inception.

    image
  • I liked Inception, but my opinion doesn't mean much because I like almost every movie I see. The only one I can think of off-hand that I hated was Scorpion King 3.

Our garden took a hit with the drought and our lack of hand watering, but all the rain this week will hopefully perk it back up. I'm really hoping to get some potatoes and carrots.
  • So aside from zucchini and squash, (since we're talking about gardening) what are some other good vegetables to grill?  We don't eat tomatoes or mushrooms.

Peppers.  Cut them length wise.  Especially the red ones.  So good.

ETA: Meaning, cut them in half length wise, then grill them.  Then cut them into long pieces.

Peppers and onions on skewers.  Asparagus bundles.  I saw asparagus wrapped in prosciutto on the grill the other day and it looked DELICIOUS.

I grill anything and everything. I love grilling corn.
  • Completely forgot about peppers and asparagus.

And Girlie, grilled pineapple is the jam.
  • Hey ladies!

I feel like I'm being like a crabby kid or something, but I couldn't get into the AE's. Oh well.

You gardeners are making me jealous. I've been dying to get out and buy some plants and stuff but haven't had enough time to put in to it. I AM however planting some aziatic lilies and sedium (Spelling?) tonight that a manager gave me from her garden. woop.

  • I don't think I've ever had grilled pineapple. I might actually be willing to try it, even though I don't usually like it otherwise.

H loves to smoke meats, but I can't stand smoked chicken. The smell of it makes me want to gag. Ribs are okay though.
  • My H is going to be so happy tonight because of y'all (um, weird sounding, but whatever).  There's a farmers market right around the corner from our house, so I will be stopping n the way home.

  • I liked Inception but I thought Shutter Island was terribly disappointing. I was really hoping that Scorcese was not going to do the predictable ending that almost all mental asylum type movies do... and then he did. Dumb.

Sesh I saw you post about Chronicle earlier... J and I just watched that a few nights ago. I had never heard of it and was pretty skeptical at first... but I actually didn't hate it.

<div>I'm not a pineapple fan otherwise, but it's delicious this way as the sugars caramelize</div>
  • H wants to get a smoker and I definitely would be down for it, but we need patio furniture first.  I also need to get to work on finishing my back piece.  Priorities and all that.
  • Sesh- yes you're correct about Shutter Island. I'd seen it a couple of years ago, but today I just had it playing in the background while I played around on the computer so I don't really remember if I liked it or not.

And Ghost Rider 2, isn't that an action movie? I may have to check it out!

I'm about to be headed to work. Hope you ladies have a great day!

  • Fi & I love grilling zuch, asparagus, onions, mushrooms and corn.. Blue we're like you. We grill at least 3 times a week. I liked Shutter Island more than Inception. You know what I didn't like? J Edgar. Leo as an old guy.. not sexy. I get wine, Whole Foods appetizers and thai tonight. Be jealous.

LOVE thai food.  I've been meaning to try the Thai restaurant that everyone talks about in Charlotte, but haven't had a chance.

I went up to DC to go to a friends bachelorette and she took us to this Thai place in a row home, where you don't order anything.  The chef just makes whatever he feels like (it's like 7 course) and it's $50/person.  Plus you can BYOB.  It was awesome.
  • Mushu, we've been wanting to see it for awhile. Didn't know what to expect really, other than that it looked different. It felt more...real, maybe? Like they seemed like just regular teenagers doing things regular teens would do when tehy discovered they had powers. And surprisingly, I liked how it was filmed with the camera POV.

Veggi, you could call it an action movie, I suppose. Or, just the usual awesomely ridiculous Nic Cage movie. Either one.
