Snarky Brides

Opinions, please

Is this dress too summer-y for work tomorrow?  I'm not photogenic, so please ignore my crazy hair--I had it up in a bun before this photo shoot :P.

Here's the dress, although I would never wear it without a cardigan.

With a sweater.

And here it is from Anthro's website.

Re: Opinions, please

  • I think with the cardigan it's okay.  It's bright but I don't think inappropriately so.
  • Looks good to me. It's work casual, and it is Friday. And yes to the cardigan as well.
And the whole time, my future husband was in the room...... image image
  • Cute dress. Its bold but I say go for it.

  • I don't think it's too summer-y.  I think it's cute with or without the sweater.

  • depends on the job.  i wouldn't wear it to work.

  • I agree.. it definitely depends on your job. I definitely couldn't wear that to my job but I wear suits during the week and "business casual" on fridays.

  • Cute.  I vote 'wear it'.

  • I'm a teacher.  I wear dresses every day to work and I definitely dress a step above most people there (most people will just wear polo/khakis and the men are complete slobs), so I'm not worried about it being appropriate.  I'm just wondering if it's out of season because mentally I'm ready for fall clothes, but it's still so damn hot.
  • Girl I fight this battle every year between summer and fall and then winter and spring! I definitely say wear it! Down here it will be hot until October so I always stretch my summer-wear out (except I'm strict about the no white shoes/pants/skirts after Labor Day)!

I know.  I wear dresses/skirts/heels every day anyway, but I'm ready to bring out my darker colors and fall stuff.  It still feels like summer anyway, so  I might as well get more use out of the dress.
  • Okay, thanks for the opinions everyone!
  • Wear it! Don't let summer end!!!!!!

  • Totally jealous of that dress.  I have Anthro envy.  I think it's cute for work.  What grade do you teach?
  • Thanks, guys!

Jules--I teach junior English and Film Studies.  This is my sixth year. I am addicted to Anthro, but I can only shop the sale stuff.  I wishlist it on the website and keep an eye on it until it goes on sale.  I also may or may not stalk the store on a regular basis :P.

Nice.  I think that's a perfect outfit for an English/Film teacher in September :)

    Thanks :).

I did the formal thing today, since it's the first day, but it was ridiculously hot (and I'm lucky enough to have air conditioning in my classroom).
