Snarky Brides

Monday :]

Good Morning everyone! I am already looking forward to today being over with. I have a lot of stuff to get done at work today, so its going to be a busy day for me. My weekend was pretty good. Friday, my 21 yr old brother came over and played video games with my FI all night while I hung out with my best friend. Saturday, I laid around in my pajamas all day and watch movies and caught up on some TV I missed. Yesterday was a pretty productive day - slept in for a little bit, went thru all the wedding stuff that we have, returned a ton of stuff that we bought when we first got engaged & bought lots more. I have a few little wedding projects I need to work on, but nothing major. I also cleaned my house & did tons of laundry. FI & I went to visit his grandparents yesterday & his gramma was asking me a million questions about the wedding. She said "well, it seems like you have everything all figured out and your ahead of the game". If thats the case, why do I feel like I have a million things that need done?!
Anyway, hope everyone has a great day!

  • I don't think I got out of my pajamas all weekend. I spent Friday watching game of thrones and stuffing invitations.

That is what people keep telling me and I feel like im running a million directions.

What do you need to bring to your first fitting? mine is next week and I am getting nervous but I don't know why.

I think you need to bring any undergarments that you will be wearing, your shoes and your veil? I could be missing a ton of stuff, but I think those are the most important.

yea, I thought for sure undergarmets and shoes, it said somewhere online jewelery and veil? but why?

  • Apple. As long as you bring your shoes bra and your slip you should be fine. I brought my veil to one of my fittings only because I wanted to see how it looked with my dress. My realtor emailed me and I already got an offer on my house. I am so excited!

    That is exciting news!!

oh ok, that would make sense just to see what it all would look like. I just didn't know if there was a specific reason to being all those other things.

  • Hi ladies,

I only had Sunday off this weekend and fully intended to chill out, but instead I went grocery shopping, had coffee with my mom and had my Dad and Stepmom over for dinner. Crazy day! I need a relax day!

  • apple--Don't be nervous! I'm sure it will be easy and you'll be so excited to see your dress. I cannot wait for my dress to come in and start my first fitting!!! I have a question...do you guys have your bra/undergarmets ordered already?? I was planning on waiting until the first fitting and maybe purchase something at the bridal salon. My dress has a low back and I'm afraid if I buy something ahead of time it won't sit low enough in back and be showing. I thought I remembered the salon saying they could sew in cups also?!

tlc--Congrats!! Selling your house so quickly should definitely be a load off. Do you have a house in mind to purchase? Made an offer already??

This weekend was pretty fun. My friend owns her graphic design company and I spent the entire day with her yesterday designing invites. I am in LOVE with what we came up with!! I'm also thinking about doing my own flowers...am I crazy?? I just really don't think they look that hard and it would save us some budget that we could put towards the honeymoon.

  • Hi ladies!

I have a day off today! I will be going to lunch with my FI and my grandparents. I will also be going to the mall with FI to do some shopping and maybe starting a registry as well.

  • tlc - congrats on the offer!

Apple - If you don't plan on having cups sewn into the dress (though i recommend it if it's right for the dress), bring the bra you plan on wearing, any body shaping under garments if you plan on wearing some, and wear modest underwear. Definitely bring your shoes, that's probably most important. If you plan on changing into different shoes at any point in the night, bring those too. If you have your veil and jewelry, you could bring those too if you want to see how they look - but I never did and was fine.

Rel - any hints of what your invitations are going to look like?

Sierra - sounds like you had a crazy productive weekend!

I had a relaxing weekend of doing basically nothing and it was wonderful. I did make some pumpkin spice banana oatmeal from scratch Saturday morning and it was delicious. I hope to start a new food blog soon and that will probably be my first recipe. Other than that, H and I lounged around the house on Saturday till we went out to our friends new apartment for the night. Sunday H went to a friends house to play D&D all day with a bunch of his friends and I watched 3 movies for free OnDemand - Breaking Dawn pt 1, The Devil Wears Prada, and Social Network.

Midnite - Registering was fun. Anything you're really exciting about possibly getting?

Tlc...congrats on selling your house! Do you already have a new house picked out?
    Angel....maybe take tonight to relax?
Midnite...hello :] have fun registering. Where are you going to go?

  • Sierra--I will try and post a pic later...It won't have the backing or anything but general idea. She is a creative genious! I'm so excited. I think instead of a heavy "suite" to put all the cards in we are going to use colored baker's twine to tie everything together like a little package. Spanx are a good idea! I think I'm going to just get cups sewn in..I'm not a slip person so we'll see how that goes..

Buzz--I've been thinking about starting a blog too! I need to start on a different career path. Something that I have a passion for and gives me a sense of purpose. Talking with my business owner friend/mentor she suggested blogging as a way to start on that path so I've been researching. Which blogging site do you plan on using? I used wordpress during an internship so I was thinking about starting down that route. Please post a link once you're up and running. I would love to see!!

We ended up not registering today because FI's stomach started hurting. We are going to register at Macy's and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

I registered at both of those places. We did Target as well. I love BBB. They have some pretty awesome kitchen gadgets & everything is really reasonably priced. My Macys registry is pretty small...I think like 25 items. Everything is so expensive there! I mostly put some glasses and stemware, and some linens.

<div>I really want a grill pan. I also want a Le Creuset baking dish and a cast iron pot. I would also like a good knife set. Then there is always the stuff we need, like a new comforter and towels. But I am excited for all of it. </div>

FI wants to register at Target as well. I like the linens they have at Macys. Within the next couple weeks, I am hoping to go through what we already have and what needs to be replaced. I love BBB too.
