    This makes sense.

At first I thought it might have something to do with privacy, but I just don't understand why you would post something on the internet if you don't want people to find it.

I also wonder how many people's FIs would really legit go looking for a TK profile so they could see the wedding dress.  I mean, I originally had a big "SCROLL DOWN, DON'T LOOK IF YOU'RE MR. BAY" on mine, but then I realized that he had never heard of TK, was never going to looking, and probably wouldn't realize it was my TK profile it hit him in the face.

I want to know where people keep it until the wedding?  Mine is kept at home when it's not being altered. He could see it any time he really wanted.

Bay, mine would never go looking for it but I get on the laptop at his place a lot so that's why it's not in my profile. If he's around when I've posted a picture, I make sure to move the screen away from his line of sight. He knows why and really doesn't want to see it.

I can kind of understand putting your blog in your sig and having it password protected. You may want your friends to have access to it if they want but not all of the rando lurkers.

See Midge, that seems like a legit reason.

I kept my dress at my parents' house.  I didn't have room in my apartment closet.

Haha, I agree! That's always kind of pet peeve of mine. Like my H would have really had to try damn hard to find a random weebly bio out on the internet with a picture of my dress. A lot harder than just finding my digital camera and seeing it. Some planning bios in general really irk me though, so there's that.

I didn't have a big dress, so I hid mine in the closet. We have a huge closet, then a smaller closet in that one with random crap we never use. Our old graduation caps and gowns are hanging up in there, so I put my dress under one of those gowns. H never even knew it was there.

I agree. If you want your "real" friends and not lurkers to know about it, post it on facebook. I can also understand having a password protected blog. But to put your password protected blog in your sig on a public website is so weird to me.

Wasn't hers like right up to a couple days before or something?  I think she had way worse of an experience than I did.  ETA - and she ended up getting an entirely different dress.

I've wondered this before with my blog. I mean, I have put up pictures of me in just a sports bra and shorts (I need to do more, actually, but right now, I refuse) - H asked me if I'm okay with people seeing that. OBVIOUSLY I am..it's on the internet. I figure, the more people who are grossed out by my rolls, the more I'll be influenced to work it off. It just hasn't worked yet...whups.

That is a good idea.  Mine is somewhat poofy, but I just got the bag you put it in.

A lot of people told me I had to keep it somewhere secret or not at home.  I guess my theory is that if I can't trust my FH to not look at my dress, why am I marrying him?

When the dress shipped from China it got into the wrong crate somehow and went to Germany instead of the US, and it went unnoticed despite my harassment of the girls at my bridal boutique.  When I finally was able to speak to the owner and he found out what happened, he told me where my dress was but that it was going to be stuck in German customs for the next five weeks - and at that point, my wedding was six weeks away.

He ended up putting a rush order on and entirely new dress and it came two and a half weeks before we got married.

One of the girls on my month board had a crazy dress saga. She got married in a castle overseas somewhere and the dress company first didn't ship it out, then it got lost during rush order. She'd spent a good chunk of change on this dress and it was just gone. No one could track it anywhere.

She bought another dress that she basically hated but figured it would do. Then like 2 days before the wedding, the original dress just showed up on her hotel doorstep. So that was great, but then there was a whole other fiasco with the cake on the actual wedding day.

So you can access it anywhere and it won't burn in a fire? I don't really know Koda. Any blog I've had online has been public. I can see how someone would prefer typed out to written and still want their privacy though. Personal preference and all that.
