Snow Day!

I made the choice to take a half day off this morning, it's been snowing since yesterday at 4pm. Apparently the worst is still yet to come, so I don't want to get snowed in somewhere away from home.

We got about 8 inches.  I had to change clothes after I dug my car out because I looked like a snowwoman.  Made it to work.  I would have taken the day off if I hadn't been out sick on Tuesday.

At least it's Friday! Still snowing/spitting freezing rain here as well, but we only got about 4 inches. People weren't driving like idiots (except the ones that refuse to clean off their car -- so unsafe), so the drive in wasn't horrible.

Got our bridesmaids dress drama figured out and settled on a dress that everyone is happy with, so I'm happy. Going to register on Sunday, and hopefully just having a relaxing weekend outside of that.

FI and DD are off all day, and I got this morning, but have to go in this afternoon. It really doesn't make sense; we were off this morning because it's still so freakin' cold that the busses wouldn't start, but they're okay for this afternoon for the grades 8-12. The catch? They're ALL the same busses!

The make one trip for the k-7s, then make the second trip for the 8-12s, so how can they work for one group and not the other???

(Sorry to sound bitter, but I wanted to go snowmobiling this afternoon, now I have to work!)

Pickle. Glad you got your dress figured out. Good luck to everyone in snowy areas and be safe. I am excited for Friday and a short week here next week. The city basically shuts down Tuesday for Mardi gras.

No snow day here in Dreary Erie, yet. So far its just been freezing rain, but it is suppose to snow soon. Therefore, I am spending my weekend in doors. I may possibly go up to the craft stores to get some stuff for my wedding projects, but other than that, nothing planned. Oh, I have to venture out to the post office tomorrow to get my STDs mailed out. Other than some DIY wedding stuff, I plan on powering up my Nook & reading all weekend. FIs 13 yr old nephew & my 13yr old brother are going to be coming over to spend the night tomorrow, which means they will be taking over my TV with video games. When they come over, they pretty much kick me out of my living room. Apparently 13 is when you become "too cool" to hang out with your sister. My little brother straight up told me "Sierra, Im at that age where I dont want to be bothered by you" WHAT?! Just yesterday he was at the age where he just wanted me to play board games with him all the time. Its so crazy to have a 13yr old brother when your already 23yrs old. I sometimes forget he is my brother & try to be a mom to him. I was asking him about school and stuff & he told me "Sierra, stop trying to be a mom." Eekk.

Good Morning!

Weather is super calm here, hope everyone in the northeast stays safe & warm.

I'm trying to figure out our meal plan. We'll go grocery shopping this afternooon, the H's mom and grandma are coming to visit tomorrow to bring some of H's tax-related mail that was sent down there, and a modcloth dress and shoes for me! They ordered them for Christmas, but didn't make it in in time.

My patience with my coworker is wearing a little thin, but I have some things to do away from my desk this afternoon, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Yay for snow days!

My mom invited me to hang out with her friends for a "Poets" club meeting, and I got all excited and went through some books to find cool poems to share, but apparently Poets is an acronym for Piss Off Everyone Tomorrow's Saturday and it is just a normal party with no poems.  They use the acronym so they can put up fliers in the teacher's lounge.  I'm oddly disappointed.

My boss is having surgery on her hand (or hands, I don't know if it is both) for carpal tunnel today, so I'm taking care of her and the baby.  I'm trying to put together a little care package for her, right now it's got super soft socks that are easy to pull on, her favorite peanut noodles that I make, some cupcakes for her to share with her daughter, and I arranged it so she can watch Downton Abbey and Battlestar Galactica (2 of the shows she's really into right now) by only hitting one button on her computer.

I've had two friends who had carpel tunnel surgery and they did one hand at a time.

Yes, generally they only do one hand at a time for carpal tunnel surgery. Otherwise it is hard to take care of personal hygiene.

It just keeps snowing! we've gotten at least 6 inches in the last 3 hours, you couldn't even tell that FI had shovelled before he left for work. Luckily we have a nice neighbour who just snow blowed our sidewalk at the side of the house, that will help alot! Living on a corner lot is a pain in the butt sometimes!

FI's had trouble with carpal tunnel the last couple of years. We're going to try everything we can before doing the surgery, the possible side effects are kinda scary!

We got a snow day today at my school, well, I think the whole state pretty much.  It's coming down at a good clip right now.  I'm not sure of the accumulation though, maybe an inch?

Angel -- good luck to your FI! My dad had carple tunnel surgery a few years ago and he rebounded pretty quicky. I'm sure your man will, too!

I am taking advantage of being snowed in...We got over 3ft of snow...I do a little digging and a little wedding stuff lol...a little more digging, then more STDs :-)
