The DOC will get tired of suggesting as long as your friend keeps saying "no."  I guess I would just not overly worry about it.

I really wouldnt worry about this. If she doesnt want her pictures taken there, she wont. And she should tell the DOC she's already made her decision. And leave it at that, if she brings it up again, ignore her.

My next question would be would it be such a big deal if she had her pictures done there? I mean it is a public place, plenty of people have most likely already had their pictures taken there as well, whats the big deal. I'd be flattered she likes it so well.

Even if she does take pictures there it's not like they'll be mirror images of your pictures. Let the two of them hash it out. If she really wants to honor the fact that you're getting married there she'll keep saying no and the other girl/DOC will drop it at some point.

I wouldn't worry about since your friend doesn't want to take pictures there anyway. If you, as you've said, have to "pay a crapload" to get married there, your venue probably will not allow another bride to take pictures on their site without paying a fee. She'd be much better off finding a pretty public park or other public area take her pictures at. And just ignore the DOC, what the bride wants will hopefully eventually get through to her.

I agree with PP and definitely wouldn't worry about it. I like Liatris' idea about asking the photographer for location suggestions.

I know when I don't particularly like someone, everything they say feels 10 times worse than it would if someone I loved said it.

I don't think you're crazy, but it sounds like your friend (the other bride) is a wonderful friend!  Yay!
