Snarky Brides

Silly question

So, this is silly but..
.Last week me and one of the neighbors said hi to each other and some small talk about the dog. I went back inside and told T howshe was really nice and I felt like we could be friends.

Well, fast forward to last night and she was outside again and started talking to me and told me how she has been wanting to introduce herself for a while blah blah and we talked for a bit.

Anyways, I really felt like her and I hit it off and it would be nice to have a friend here. How do I....ask her out? hahaha no really? Would it be forward of me to suggest hanging out? What do I even suggest we do?

You can all make fun of me now :)

Just suggest grabbing coffee/drink/lunch/something sometime when she's free.  I don't think thats weird.
  • Omg, this is ALWAYS my issue with making friends.  It's so weird because you don't want to come across as the freaky, obsessed girl.
  • Whatever you do, dont let your bees sting her in the face.

A young woman who lives down the street in our neighborhood with a pug, who my husband has seen a number of times and I only saw for the first time tonight, was talking to me at the fence and we both got stung. Me int he leg, her in the face. I feel like she will never want to be friends.
  • Apro's right.  Next time you're talking, you should say, "Hey maybe we should grab coffee sometime soon."  Actually, that might be vague.

Maybe mention something you like to do or eat/drink.  Like, "Suchandsuch just opened and I really want to check that place out.  have you been?"  Then let her ask you out.
  • aww Nebb, that be intereferred in your friend making!

This girl seems awesome, I always see in her apt. (first level, leaves the blinds open and lights on at night. I'm not stalking hahaha) and it looks so cute and very me.

I like NPs suggestion.....thats usually how I do it.

She's probably also trying to figure out how to hang out with you without looking/feeling strange.  Roxy you're pretty awesome so I'd imagine someone loving to hang out with you.
  • I think its exciting to make a real life friend! good luck :)

I'm also weird about this. I don't know you exact situation, but maybe next time you have a little cookout you can invite her? Or even the next time you happen to be talking, invite her in for coffee or a drink?

I agree you don't want to come off as creepy but think about if you were in her shoes and you got invited in or to go and have a cup of coffee...would you feel that was strange and stalker-ish?

Put it this way, if you invited her to do something and she got all weird about it, that's probably not someone you'd want to spend your time with anyway. And if not, then you made a friend.  : )

  • Shaye- good points. If she asked me to do something I'd be all for it and not find it weird, but is that because I want to be her friend?
I'd just invite her up for something but the dog ruins any chances of that (barking, biting).

We have this cute wine bar down the street maybe I'll suggest that.
  • That's my dog, too.

I'd want to be friends with you, so I think she would, too!
  • Thanks NP! I definitely got a friendly vibe from her.
  • Creepy Mc Creeperson...I mean, Roxy ;)

Did you choose a scrapbook theme for the grandparents (I think it was gparents?)?
  • you could try, "when i stare into your windows at night, i only have a view of part of your apartment. will you show me the rest?"

    ;)
  • Since you live by each other, you could ask if she likes (insert your favorite show here) and ask if she wants to come over for the next new episode.  I have my grilfriends over for Project Runway nights.
