B&M Monday

First of all, it's Monday.Secondly, Dallas drivers suck.Thirdly, I'm extremely irritable today.  I cannot wait for Labor Day and a 3 day weekend.

Last night I made spaghetti and was draining the pasta and somehow managed to pour the boiling water down the front of my T-shirt.  I have a 6-inch 2nd degree burn across my stomach.  Looks like I'll be wearing a one-piece bathing suit on my honeymoon.Today was the also the first day of school and the first day of getting up an hour earlier.

Family drama sucks! I have to change my route now. I enjoyed not having to worry about school zones.

My hamstring randomly feels like I pulled it even though I know I did no such thing as I was doing zero physical activity when it started irritating me.I have randomly started spotting again. It's Monday and school starts today and I fear I may miss the "mandatory orientation because I didn't pick up the schedule "before the 1st day of class".And I'm cold.

Everybody is off to school today except me and I am extremely bored. Along that same note, my dad came out into the family room last night really excited because he doesn't have to take anybody to school anymore(brother can drive now). I am not looking forward to driving to lubbock tomorrow.

Dropping Courts off at the airport yesterday was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

My step-dad's mother passed away last night.  I didn't know her very well, but I just feel bad for my stepdad.  In the past 3 years he's lost his son, a sister, a brother in law, and now his mother.

We sent out our e-SaveTheDates on Saturday, with directions at the bottom to email us their current mailing address (I thought this was a great way to gather those pesky addresses!)  But why are people so bad at following directions?  Half of the responses we got back were nice and sweet and said "congratulations" but no mention of any mailing address.  We even got one where they emailed us their email address, not mailing address.  Does that make any sense?  Clearly, if we sent you an email SaveTheDate, we already have your email address, we need your mailing address!

I have nothing to B&M about really...I had a cupcake from Society Bakery (since you gals go on and on about them, I decided I had to check them out!) so this week should be perfect :)Who am I kidding?  School starts this week...yikes!  I've already gotten a crappy email from a student because of a canceled class. My B&M: I got my dress this weekend and I can't try it on all the way.  I could get in it, just not button it up and such and I can't do that because the only person that could help me is FI and he doesn't want to see it before the big day.Stephie- Ouch :(

I'm in Nashville now. Courts drove up with me over the weekend and flew back yesterday. My matron of honor actually bought his ticket so he could come with me, which was so nice of her.

Stephie I did that when I was younger when making mac n cheese. I don't remember the degree of burns but it was worse than a regular burn(I guess second?) and mine didn't scar but I was also in my teens. I just knew gymnastics sucked that night! I didn't do like anything lol

Awww, Bananna I'm sorry! Yeah, it's a 2nd degree burn in that it is blistered.  It doesn't hurt today at all surprisingly.  I had ice on it all night though and took a ton of Aleve.

I have classes of 30 and 36 this year (in addition to my other classes).  Does anyone really look at numbers?  If they did, they'd have realized that they needed another Latin teacher two years ago.

I am so tired, I want to go home and crawl in bed.  But no, I need to go add stuff to our registry after work.  It seems like the registry thing would be fun but it is not, I even took my mother with me on Saturday to help at one store and she admitted she understands why I complain about it now.  I am grateful that people are buying things and actually looking at the registry though.  Mariah - "Dallas" drivers don't suck, ALL drivers suck (besides us of course)

I woke up this morning and my $450 road bike was on the porch, instead of the back hallway "miniden" (glorified back hallway)Apparently my roommate "just didn't want it there" because they plan on sitting in our back hallway (with no tv and chair) when they have large bedrooms and a usually empty living room available. They could have at least asked me--hello, I live here too, and I asked repeatedly if my bike in the back hallway would be an issue!!!Here's to a rusted out bike.

Julie, why don't you make that a separate post?  It doesn't go along with the feeling of "B&Ming". Gah, I feel like a ragging b**** today.  I don't think I've had one pleasant thought all day.  Maybe I'm PMSing.

Take it from someone who can burn herself just talking about it... I did this years ago browning beef and ended up in the E.R.-- it will heal but DO NOT expose to sun at all, keep moisturized and keep taking your antiinflammatories...and drink heavily, okay, that's for you but it will help! My future MIL just emailed me 15 names she "forgot" about that are family and MUST be invited! She also strongly suggests getting a bbsitter for people traveling with kids. I think they should travel without!

My cell phone is slowly falling apart... I want a new one, but I don't want to pay the price for one :(

And whaddya know, I have another!I called about finishing up the last 3 weeks of the bootcamp I paid for last spring (I had to quit in the spring during finals for various reasons, and was told I could finish in the fall)They guy who runs it said I could finish, but I have to shell out another $99 and do the full six weeks again. When I said I would think about it, he got all preachy and said I had commitment issues, and it was all about that.Well, duh, you idiot! I'm not really sure I want to commit again to waking up at 5 am and following a food plan that calls for canned chicken or tuna at every other meal for 6 weeks. I'm in freakin' college--I barely know what I'm doing next week, much less for the next 6 weeks! And I want to be able to have the occasional drink, or go out to dinner with my friends--on this plan, that is a strict nono.

I am so sorry Stephie!!  That must have hurt badly!!    My B&M is that my step dad had to have kidney surgery today and I'm worried about him and my mom....I also still hate my job :(

It appears that DH had a straw wrapper in one of his pockets before I did laundry. I understand it's my fault for not checking his pockets, but wait... then again, why should it be my job to check??
  • edited December 2011
Allison, at least it wasn't something electric.  It could be a lot worse than a straw wrapper...
