Well, technically, her little race box at school is hispanic/white, but her dad's family is from mexico, so I don't know.  I just asked him what he would mark, and that's what I do. :)

Technically Mexican's qualify for the Hispanic race/ethnicity option on most questionaires.

• I'm late...but whatever.

Our pup is a Lab mix, we adopted her from a shelter.  Our first day of puppy obedience class, one of the other pet parents decided to give us a 15 minute lecture on the importance of adopting shelter pets instead of buying designer dogs.  There were four of us in the class...a Labradoodle, a Brittany, my pup the accidental Lab mix, and their Carolina Dog.  We had the only unintentional mix-breed dog in the class; ours was the only dog in the class that couldn't possibly have papers.  I'm still not sure why I got the lecture.
• I've had one person get all snobbish looking when I was walking my dog (I swear the woman even sniffed her nose like they do in the movies) and asked what my dog was (I think she wanted me to say Pit so she could get all high and mighty on me) I just looked her in the eyes and said she's a Bitch, just like you, and walked away.
Man that was a good day.

• I've always had full bred dogs. I don't consider myself snotty. So has H. (All the dogs I've owned were rescues too...)

The dog we have now is the first mutt either of us has ever owned.

Your neighbor = asshat.
• I'm very big on rescue dogs, but full breed dogs are not for "snotty people". My mom has a pure bred miniature daschund, and he's so adorable. Whatever really floats your boat, I guess.
• First off, my fiance and I have 2 pure bred pitbulls and one mixed lab/pitbull. My neighbors all hate us, except for the few that do love us, because of our dogs. Unfortunately, because of the atigmas attached to the breed, we get looks.
On the other side, our dogs are great dogs, very socialable and loving. Just ask my 4.5 year old son. He loves his " Best friends". There is nothing wrong with having pure bred dogs. And it doesn't neccesarily mean that you paid alot of money for them. All 3 of our dogs were rescues or adoptions that cost no money. So, don't listen to what your neighbors say. We certainly don't and unforunately, people and society will never change.
You can't fix stupid.
I *think* once you spay or neuter the dog its not really a "pure bred" anymore.  Or something like that.  I know you cant show them once they are fixed.
Posted by Blueyed228
Yea once a dog is altered it cannot be shown.

Purebred dogs don't make people snotty. People are bitchy all on their own

• You have to see the coat I bought for my *PUREBRED* French Bulldog (sarcasm used for Purebred as I'm trying to sound snotty, but I'm really not)....

• Do pure bred cats count?

Here's a snobby dude FI and I met in Portland (He was walking his pure bred cat on a harness).

My cat is a snob too.

• We have a full bred husky. H rescued her because someone left her tied to a telephone pole overnight and animal control was going to take her...damn we are snotty!

But then again, Pumpkin is a mutt, so maybe we are only half snotty.

• Blueyed228: Dogs that are purebred are purebred whether or not they are spayed/neutered. Genetics (purebred or mixedbred) are the determining factor not gender. Also you can show dogs that are spayed/neuter the AKC just doesn't allow it. I show UKC (United Kennel Club) and they allow spayed/neutered dogs to show. You just enter the Altered Class. Please do proper research before blindly posting.

Also I must be super snotty because I have an imported West German Showline German Shepherd. I show her and she is spayed. I have owned mixed breeds in the past and love things about both mixed and purebred. My FI has a rescue black and tan coonhound.

• Hmmm...since there is more than one person I wanted to quote, I'll just go ahead and blurt out a combimation of others' thoughts and mingle in my own.

Full bred owners=Snooty? Meh, I have a full bred dobe who I adopted from a friend and never point out the 'full bred' thing. Although she's like 90 lbs and it is sorta obvious, so there's that. But I think even if it wasn't, I wouldn't point it out. People think she's a terrible, people-eating bully and it couldn't be further from the truth, so I try to just avoid people with opinions.

I didn't spay her because she has a thyroid problem and is already super fat and I didn't want to deal with her possibly gaining more weight? But it is still something we want to do, since we would never show her anyway and I seriously don't think I'd be able to give up puppies and then I'd have like, 5 dobermans (a whole different problem!). Although, in the spirit of snootiness, her parents are both AKC champs :)

Mexican/White debacle? PP got it right about the hispanic box thing (tried and true)
:)
• I have a 2.5 lb yorkie who either gets ohhh and ahhhs or dirty looks (for being purebred and tiny). She was a mill rescue. And I have a purebred beagle from a longline of championship showdogs... I guess I'm a snob.
• I own a purebred American Bulldog, and only get snotty when some dumb--s tries to convince me that I have a Pitbull... then I want to shove his pedigree down their throats.
