Uuugh old people!! I'm sitting at the gas station since I can't leave and this old man pulled up looking super confused, parked and got out. Started wandering around and finally grabbed a random stranger to help him figure out how the pump works. I'm sorry but if you're that confused you shouldn't even be driving, I don't give a shiit if you're a vetran or not, get off the damn road. That's a hazard. Old people shouldn't be allowed to drive.
MJ Cirque was great!!   LP, that would drive me bonkers as well.  She white's out her birthday on her license?  Irrational much?

<div>Just a bit! She's actually a nice person and she usually means well, but damn she's irrational sometimes.  </div>

• LP, isn't that... illegal? I'd refuse to serve her booze. ;) Oh, and I never call H's side of the family for birthdays, just like he doesn't call my side. I mean, he'll pop on the phone and wish them a Happy Birthday or whatever (and facebook/texts my siblings I guess.)  But, I wouldn't just call his parents.

Morning everyone! I'm still on a high from the hockey game last night. Everyone at work is all buzzing about it too. I'm waiting for the ticket office to open so I can try and score some seats in the reserved section for our fans.  It'll be about $800 for the three of us. ouch. (good thing my dad is paying me back! ha) My sister is whining again this morning. She sent me a text "Make sure you get GOOD seats. I don't watn to sit in the way back." Hey, why don't you shut up and appreciate the fact that dad and I are figuring this all out. And, you know, you're getting a trip to freaking Florida at the last minute.

<div>I could not agree more.</div><div>
</div><div>LP, luckily the fixes have always been well under 100 bucks.  FI knows cars and has a friend who is a mechanic (that doesn't mind getting paid in lunch or cigs) so I luck out.  The mysterious oil leakage hasn't happened in a few months so I didn't think much of it until now.  A new car probably should happen soon but I'm the type that as much as I want  and would love a new car, can't convince myself until I have to spend, like, over 500 to fix it or it just completely dies.  I'm knocking on wood right now...</div>
• Steph I'm pretty sure it is illegal, but she doesn't seem to care.  I have no idea how she buys booze.  I've never been around her when she's been carded.  And I think she's just upset that I forgot this year because every other year I've texted her happy birthday because H reminded me.  So I can sort of understand being a little bit hurt.  But crying that I hate her and was trying to get back at her for not liking Christmas presents? Really?

• Good morning! OMG, I looooooved the Mad Men premiere. My favorite line of the whole night was Roger at the end "Is it just me or is the lobby full of negroes?". Haha, I almost died. And I agree, Lane creeped me the fvck out. Skeevy old man.

My check engine light came on yesterday. I'm not sure what the problem is since Audi owner's manuals are so vague. Whatever issue your car is having, the recomendation is "Please contact your local Audi dealership", which translates to "I hope you have at $1000 set aside because we're about to screw you out of every penny you have".

Oh, and Duds, have fun on your trip!
And pssst, I know someone who lives in Ft. Lauderdale.

• Steph, when are you going to Tampa? Flying or driving? You should totally make a pit stop in Jax.

H just texted and said he fired his new worker. He showed up late (like, at least 2 hours late) 2 out of the 3 days he's worked without so much as an excuse or apology. H is tired of dealing with crappy subs so I guess he decided not even to bother with this one. Why is it so hard to find people who are willing to actually work hard and do their job right?
• Thanks Chels. They provided a bunch of links but I am not willing to try any of them while at work!

I still might see if FH's bff will record it for me. it's kind of a sore subject though. He wanted us to split the cable costs with him (he lives below us) but we passed. He pays an exorbitant sum for premium cable, internet and phone; our half would be $100 a month. We're content without cable except for a few shows.

• Wow Sesh.  I get that shiit happens and sometimes people will be late, but 2 out of 3 days with no explanation at all?  Yeah, that's definitely grounds for firing someone.  I hope he can find a competent replacement quickly.
image
• haha Sesh. I wish, but I doubt we'll have time. We're flying down (into Orlando actually) on Friday morning. My brother is down there with his HS baseball team for the week, so we'll watch one of his games, then drive to Tampa for the hockey game. I think we're going back up to Orlando on Friday morning for another baseball game. I'm not sure what we're doing the rest of the day Friday though. Maybe hanging out with my mom's family?
• Morning! Miss you guys!

I had a GREAT weekend! Last year- my birthday weekend was a bit stressful so this year H and I opted to make it a quieter, fun celebration- and it was awesome. He took me out to a restaurant I've been dying to try on Friday and brunch Saturday. Later that day, a friend of mine actually treated me to mani/pedis and then we saw the Hunger Games! Sunday- dinner and Mad Med!

I actually saw the Hunger games at midnight AND Saturday. I am glad I saw it again. I was too tired at midnight and too distracted by the insane crowd to catch everything. I think I also need to reread the book!

Blue- was this at the restaurant? H and I were driving by it last night and literally as we were passing by, turned around and decided to have dinner there. I need to go when you are actually there! I forgot how yummy it is!

It was an african carving of some kind, a gift from that other ad agency playing a joke back on scdp. I looooved how it ended with them coming out and just doing it and playing that music.
I didn't like Lane's creepiness either, Meag.  He seems to be headed for some kind of breakdown. I also didn't like Pete being a jerkface, but he's always been a jerkface a large part of the time.  He has his moments.   I loved seeing Don happy. And Roger cracks me up. <strong>What was the item delivered to their office that they decided they needed to hire one of the applicants because they had all seen the delivery? I couldn't tell what it was.</strong>
dmill, do you mean you can only get $75 worth of gas at a time at the pump, and then you have to restart the process?
Posted by edielaura
sorry, stepped away for a meeting. Pretty much what Duds said. <div>I kind of get why the banks do it. I think most gas charges don't show up for a day or two and they don't want to be on the hook if you don't have the money to cover it. BUT they don't/can't stop you from putting your card right back in. With gas being so high, I've been trying to remember to fill up before I get to 1/4 tank so I don't have to worry about it, but I use a lot of gas and it's a pain to have to stop so often. </div>

I'm finally at the car place, they're gonna test my battery and other startup things. Tests are gonna cost me 40. I'm seriously getting worried this will affect us affording osheaga tickets which are gonna be 450 :
• Eddie- We have been getting calls at the office all morning about the water in Pittsburgh. Maybe that's the reason for you're toilet water being black. I think there was a main break or something.

• I thought it was hilarious how Roger and Jane were threatened by Megan's performance at Don's party.

Roger: Why can't you sing like her?
Jane: Why don't you look like him?

They would change sally too if it wasn't for how good she is at the roll. I like her, she's curious and smart and sorta stuck. Seeing gene as a walking talking boy was so cute. I feel like I'm in the minority of thinking it was a great episode, so much came out and happened IMO.

I've order many, many pairs off zappos. I have wide, huge feet so I love their free returns. I picked out one pair of wedding shoes on there that I have but I may change my colors. I have 2 more pairs of wedding candidates on their way and three pairs of summer work shoes waiting for me when I get home.

A credit card + free returns that get credited back before the bill is due = heaven

I thought it was a great episode, too. It seems they've transitioned more into the mod-60s now, with how Megan was dressed at the party, and dealing with issues of homosexuality and racism/equal opportunity. I also like Sally, I was amazed at how unchanged she looked. I half expected her to look much older since it had been a year & a half, and girls that age tend to sprout pretty rapidly.

• Dot - I got my wedding shoes from My Glass Slipper. Their shipping is super fast, I think I ordered my shoes on a Monday or Tuesday and they arrived on Thursday. And I felt that what I payed was fair for what I got, especially compared to other shoe sites.

If I do change my colors I want a pair of royal blue shoes. Unfortunately they seem to come in navy more often than blue.

This is the pair I just ordered:
http://www.zappos.com/bouquets-mona-royal-blue-satin I am curious to see if the embellishments look cheap in person.

And with that I am off to see a study patient. I'd be happy to discuss shoes more when I get back!

Was it a year and a half? I figured less than a year, I didn't think joans baby was all that old? I couldn't see her being out of work for very long. I loved petes wifes dress too that felt more later 60s to me too. I wanna watch megans song again.
• Morning ladies!

I woke up this morning to barely being able to talk.  It wouldn't be so bad if my boss hadn't scheduled me to work today...and close...and train two new girls (this is the first monday I have been scheduled in about a month).  This should be an interesting night.  I'll probably end up writing on my paper pad to communicate before the end of the night.  And I work tomorrow too.

Any one have any good throat remedies to keep my voice from completely going today?  I'm gonna try and get through this shift tonight but I might have to call in tomorrow if I can't talk lol.  You kinda have to be able to do that as a server.

• No, I meant a year and a half IRL, not Mad Men time lol.

And koda, I agree with the points you brought up, especially the one with Greg in Vietnam. It would make sense with how Roger met the baby and all that last night.
