... with anxiety and stress! BLARGH!!
Sorry... small vent. My FSIL is getting married in a few months, and I've been haggling with one of my FBIL's wife to figure out accomodations. There will be 8 of us, so we're all renting a house for the week, to cut down costs. It'll be me, FI, 3 of FI's brothers and their S/O's, FI's dad (who only has contact with one of the brothers, everyone else is kind of wary of him), 2 toddlers, a newborn, and one other of FI's brothers on his own...
One of the S/O's is driving me up the wall. They're coming from the east, and she's the one who came up with the house renting idea so has pretty much been organizing it on her own, with input from me and the others. She sent me a message with a bunch of house links, but they all cost upwards of $1500, all the way up to $2500 for the week, which is completely out of me and FI's price range right now (especially after you factor in gas, groceries, nights out, wedding presents etc etc). We emailed her back telling her our absolute max was $1500 (so about $300/couple or single). She emailed me back with a few more options, some under $1500, and some over. It's a huge pet peeve of mine when you tell someone something important, like budget, and they blow it off. She's not a favorite among some people in FI's family, and now I kind of understand why. She also blew off the fact that one of FI's brothers is a full time student, and therefore definitely cannot afford anything over $300, and that's pushing it. Totally rubs me the wrong way...
On top of that, another of FI's brothers and his S/O have a dog, who is probably the most misbehaved dog I've ever met. She has the potential to be a great dog, but FBIL just doesn't know how to train her properly, and isn't inclined to either. He had a hissy fit when we told him he probabyl wouldn't be able to bring the dog, and if he did, any pet deposit that needed to be paid would have to be paid in full by them, since no one else is bringing pets. He pretty much freaked out, but then again he freaks out about everything. It's not like he doesn't have someone to take care of the dog, his girlfriends mother has offered.
I have a tendency to get worked up about little things, but planning a vacation always tends to make me stressed... again, blargh.
