Ceremony "format"

So I have been to tons of weddings this past year, but I have never paid close attention to the actual "format" of the ceremony proceedings so please excuse my ignorace...lol. When do the mother's of the couple typically light the candles to be used for a unity candle?

Re: Ceremony "format"

  • At the beginning of the ceremony before the bride walks in.

  • I am planning on doing a unity candle as well.  I thought it was after the bride was there, maybe it depends on the church. I will look through the handouts that I got and let you know if I find anything about where it goes. Are you having a catholic ceremony?

Thanks for the feedback!  That would be great if you could check Michelle.  There ceremony isn't specifically catholic, it is interfaith so basically we can arrange things however we want.  I just wasn't sure where it was most logical.
