Okay here - my future nephew, who just turned 2, has been bothered by his penis lately.  My future sister in-law took him to the doctor, and apparently - when he was circumcized, the doctor who performed the procedure... missed some.  So now he has to go back in like a week to get the rest taken care of. 

Poor little guy.

Anyway it got me thinking about circumcision in general.  Some people think it's purely aesthetic, other people think it's pure disfigurement.

I'm always interested to hear opinions on it.

I'm just sitting at home waiting for the AC people to finish their job. They had to patch some sheet rock, so at some point I need to go get some matching texture stuff (not sure how that works) and repaint it. Also, since this was an unplanned expense, our honeymoon may consist of cranking up the heat and putting a palm tree in the corner. Who needs Hawaii? We've got a new AC unit!

On my list of projects for the weekend are figuring out my hair stuff, getting FI to get his tux ordered, and getting the invitations ready to go out on Monday. Hair sucks, especially when its short. I don't have many options. 

Our friends are having a baby on Wednesday so I need that cherry cola cupcake recipe for their "last adult party" party on Sunday night. Other than that, our weekend will be full of BBQ, as the groomswoman and her creepazoid bf are in town, and they love eating out at BBQ places. 

I don't know what else to talk about.. we already covered gender stereotyping today.

Any kind of popcorn that is not buttery and salty grosses me out.

An uncircumsized penis would be fascinating to me, but.. and not to be all TMI about it, but I'm not sure what I'd know what to do if I ever encountered one.  Which is highly unlikely at this point.

And Fribbles are the most wonderful milkshakes EVER, especially when paired with a Turkey Club Supermelt.  Mmm...

If it were up to me, I would not have my child circumcised.  I think nowadays only 50% of boys are, so the excuse "but he'll look different/get made fun of" doesn't really apply anymore.

However, since H has a peen and I don't, I'm leaving the final decision up to him if we have a boy.  I will show him all the research and hope he comes to the same conclusion I did.

I don't want to imply I am a penis authority or anything, but I've seen my fair share.

I have it on excellent authority that uncircumcised men have greater sensitivity, and the ones I've known have no regrets that they are not circumcised.

That said, uncircumcised men do have to make additional efforts at personal hygeine.

My boyfriend junior year of HS was rumored to be uncut.  All my girlfriends were like "OMG  you have to find out if it's true or not tell us what it looks like giggle giggle giggle peen!"  I never saw it though.  I heard they look the same erect.

I've been with guys with and without circumcision.  I don't think it makes much difference in the long run.  (Definitely TMI, but when it's flacid, you can really notice the difference as it sort of hangs there like a limp elephant trunk, but when it's hard it's the same,  just a bit more loose skin - I actually thought it felt kinda good!)

I've debated whether or not I'd want any future children to be circumcized.  BF's opinion is that if the father is circumcized, typically the baby boys would be circumcized, and vice versa (uncircumcized father=uncircumcized kid).  He also says that he knew some kids growing up who were uncircumcized and they got made fun of A LOT in the locker room.  He definitely wants any child of ours to be circumcized, and I told him that he'll have to be in the room because I won't be able to take it!
