You've probably answered this question a thousand times but...

Did you buy the blue/purple tulle petticoat under your dress?  Dye a white one?

    Hiya!!! I'm sorry this took so long, I didn't see the page! 

    I bought a regular old white crinoline, and dyed it blue. I bought a bottle of liquid RIT dye, and used a 30/40 gallon Tupperware moving container to dye it in (we had a porcelain tub, I didn't want to risk staining the tub). I had to stir the crinoline in the hate water/dye for about 30 minutes to make sure the dye distributed evenly, and then I let it sit for another 15 minutes or so, rinsed it off in an old sink, and popped in the washing machine---and viola!
