Re: Remedies

• Allergies - Don't go outside? The only thing I would recommend is Clearasil Allergy Eyedrops.

Hickey - Freeze a spoon, and hold it to your hickey until ithe spoon warm. Repeat. Oil based concealer. Don't let H give you hickey's in spots where peope can see.

Zit - What kind of zit? White head or black head? Does it have a head or is it just red and under the surface?
• allergies- no meds at all? That's tricky. It helps if I drink lots of water. As far as the sneezing though? Drugs, and only drugs.

Hickey? Um.... let me go ask my 17 year-old sister ;) Seriously though? Concealer should work ok. Both powder and liquid stuff if you have it.

Zit- ice, like Sarah said... and some more concealer.

Allergies - not immediate, but start eating local honey
Hickeys - yellow toned concealer
zit - something with salyicic (sp?!?) acid, do not put anything over it.
• Allergies : If they are pollen related I have heard that consuming local honey can help. You can also try a humidifier to help with the stuffyness.

Hickey : I got nothing...

Zits: Tea Tree oil helps me a bunch for a spot treatment. It dries them up and makes the go away fairly quickly. I've also just switched to using all Clean N Clear products and it's made a huge difference on my face.
• I have a heart condition that prohibits me from taking antihistamine, diphenhydramine, astemizole and pseudeoephedrine. If someone knows of an allergy medication that does not those things, I will run out and buy it NOW.

The zit is one of those terrible, under the surface red ones.

I'm freezing a spoon NOW Embarassed

• I'm doing all of those things.

Nebb, I forgot to tell you. I was eating local honey all summer and then I got ANTS. So I freaked out and threw away all the honey. I'll get some more, but the local kind I got is sold in bottles, which causes a bit of leakage. Anyway, ants. It was scary.

Also you haven't done a MM recap thread yet.
If the zit is under the surface, there is nothing you can do until you get a head on it, and even then, I woudn't recommend doing anything.. You can put concealer on it, but make sure you actually wash your face and not just let it rub off over time.. And don't pick it! I used to be really bad with my face, and have two scars.. :/

Posted by cupcakesfrosting
I say this. I would try to avoid touching it as much as possible- if you rub it at all, you'll agitate it and make it worse. I would just wash the area and leave it- and hope it goes down.

• I'm taking all of these tips into consideration!

Pirate, I'm going to keep that info for once I go off BC!

• Allergies- can you use a rx nasal steriod spray? I use veramyst and it works wonders. No antihistimine in it.
• Curly! That's a good idea too! I think I can do that!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic BabyFruit Ticker
• I hope you can! I used everything out there and this is the only thing other than benedryl (which knocks me out) that has ever worked. GL!
• Yup. I can do that. Excellent!

Frozen spoon and warm compress next. You guys are the best.

• Fexofenadine might be okay. It's the equivalent to allegra I think.

For the hickey get a fine tooth comb and run it over the surface, it should help dissipate the blood pool under the skin.

• Fexofenadine is prescription, ps.

• I figured, NS. But it's helpful. I thought my allergies were completely hopeless and they are bad.
MIAF: if you're stopped up, try sudafed PE decongestant. it's OTC and contains phenylepherine, not pseudoephedrine (no stimulant). I combine benadryl with it (store brands of both) but you'd have to leave off the diphendydramine.

Oh wow! I can take that too. This is awesome. Thanks Missy! You guys are allergy drug geniuses.

I cant knot at work so I cant actually participate if I do one unless people start waking up at 6am to talk with me :(

Could you possibly transfer it to a glass container?

Yeah. 6 a.m. is pretty early for a MM recap.

I need to get a honey bear or something. The bottle they use looks like a bourbon bottle. I need something that doesn't leak on the side because it apparently attracts ants from three neighboring states.

• None of my "what if you..." ideas seem feasable other than transfering it into a better container. how do you USE it, is the big question. I only use honey in tea, so cold honey wouldntbe a big problem for me (fridge storage?).
• For allergies: go to an organic/ homeopathic storen like Wegmans.

For a hickey: the spoon works and you can also use the spoon to "break up" the blood that has been surfaced

For a zit: Try a salicyclic acid product like clearasil, oxy, etc. and to cover use a green stick, it helps hide red, and then a concealer over.

• For allergies can you use Claritin(loratdine) or Zyrtec(cetirizine)?
*~* Mrs.J *~*
• Unfortunately, I can't take Claritin or Zytec. The nasal stuff is good though!

• Curly- Do you have a border collie? :)

Zit- I second the toothpaste, or some diluted tea tree oil. It burns, but it works really well.

Hickey- Ha! Ha! (Nelson laugh) You have a hickey! ;)
image
• p.s What heart condition do you have?
image
• This is going to sound crazy but try milk of magnesia for the zit. I get the deep red/sore acne often from stress. When I heard about milk of magnesia I thought it was a crazy idea but being desperate at that point I tried it and now I'm hooked.

First, it has to be the unflavored kind. Dab some on the spot before you go to bed and you should notice a difference in the morning. After a few days it should shrink to a manageable size and after about 10 days it should be almost gone. Also, you can wear it as a mask to bed about 3 days a week, I do this and have noticed a huge improvement in my skin.
