Re: Morning

  • Good morning!  Its hot here already.  Took the dog out and it was all sticky outside.  78 right now, and supposed to hit 95 today.  Looks like maybe another pool day (though I never made it there yesterday).
  • Our high today is 78. I'm glad we won't get the nasty heat. I want the weekend to be here so we can go to the lake. One more day!
    panther
  • I wish I could look forward to the weekend, but I'm working Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Yuck!
  • 8:30 am and its already 86.4 out. Normally I'm not a complainer about the hot weather in fact I'm weird and like it BUT when you do labwork and have to wear a long lab coat and the AC in your building decides to crap out... It sucks. Its still warm in here today but apparently they fixed it last night. It'll probably take a solid few days to get the temps regulated back to normal since the building is large. Today is my Friday. The next few days will be full of driving and quick family visits. Poor FI has a tournament going on at his course so he's been baking outside in preparation and will be for the rest of the weekend.

</div><div>It seems like all summer, every summer, the hospital I work in is hot all day and then when the sun goes down the air conditioning finally kicks in and we freeze at night.  We spend all night freezing and then the day people come in and complain that it is hot and it is always so hot!  Its a vicious cycle, lol.

    </div>
  • That sucks. It is a lot easier to cool a building at night since there is no sun and it is generally cooler. Last night it didn't get cool at all so I think that's why the AC is struggling today. I'm being proactive and keeping the shades near my work areas closed today. I like being able to look outside but I like it even more when I don't feel like a puffy, heat exhausted, overcooked sausage.
  • Morning. We are having a pool party today because it's going to be 100. Im glad for today because tomorrow is a suck day for me and sat we have a wedding in New Hampshire. Also my hair has been doing wild things lately. Its so damn curly that even H asked me "whats up with the crazy hair?"

You guys are worse than canadians talking about the weather all the time. Its summer! I'd be concerned if it wasn't hot!
  • Morning, y'all.

Ha, the weather. Blech. I think you East Coasters should get some relief soon, it's cooler again here.

Busy work day, then I'm picking up some scrapping supplies after work. I haven't scrapbooked in 6 years or so and I'm not positive I have any interest in picking it back up. Alas, I'm going to a scrap night with some girlfriends and don't want to look like a tool who just came for the wine and apps.

  • The only solution that works for hot/humid hair frizz for me is a humectant shampoo/conditioner and Argan Oil. Argan Oil is the shiznit.

    Morning ladies...

Definitely hotter than hell outside already. So gross! Glad I'm in the a/c.
  • ugh puppy puke is the worst.

especially when they do it in the middle of the night and you have to get up and scrub it.

  • JCB- Hope the pup is ok.

Blue-bet you're glad you made that investment in the pool. Cant help with the hair, I have an afro in this weather.

Came home yesterday to a wonderful yard. The landscapers did a fabulous job, now I can finish some other things I needed to get started. And husband took some stuff from the basement to the curb before I got home. So glad to see progress on certain things.

Atticus was 16 weeks yesterday, so H stopped by the vet to weigh him, he's 33.2 lbs. And still rotten.

  • Good morning, ladies.

It's only going to be 77* today.  Wonderful - 95* is too hot.

My current project at work is killing me.  Fortunately it's merger-related and we only have to do it once, but I'm ready to give up.

I hope the pup is ok, jcb.

  • Yeah. Frizz is the worst.

  • Jcb, I hope your dog is okay. Dealing with sick pups isn't fun.

[QUOTE]Bah, he just threw up AGAIN.   Yesterday it was just foam/saliva (sorry TMI).  Today, he's thrown up his entire breakfast.  Damn it. Humidity just makes my straight lifeless hair even straighter.  I WISH I had some curl.

No you dont! Everyone wishes they had curl, but if you had it you wouldnt want it.

By the time we got to Ireland most people wondered why I wasnt in the pictures, they didnt recognize me.

  • I dont mind the curl, im just not used to it so its been up in a messy bun with an elastic headband all week.  I also feel liks a lazy loser because I have only worked about 2 shifts these last 3 weeks, lol.  Yet Im still having my cleaning lady come.

I wish you guys lived closer.  You could all call out sick today and come over.

Hopefully the vet will give him some fluids and help everything calm down. When Old Man was a pup he got really sick and was throwing up every 20 maybe even less minutes. It was scary. They gave him some pepcid and some other stuff and a nice fluid "sack". He was back to himself pretty quick.

A day in the pool would be incredible!
  • Dog puke is the pits.  Especially when they decide to do it in the very small areas of the house that have carpet.

  • Morning, everyone.  Blue, my hair is doing the same thing and I ended up giving up on the idea of straightening it today.  I threw it up in a big poofy bun.

The weather is so gross. DC gets so sticky so fast, and while it is supposed to cool off in the next day or so, I am flying to the Southwest for work on Sunday and it is supposed to be between 105-111 all next week while I am there.  Fabulous.

Jcb, sorry to hear about your dog.  Cheyenne is a puker and it is so frustrating to deal with.  Thank baby Jesus for Woolite Pet Stain remover spray!

  • My sister has the straight hair that when she gets out of the pool or ocean she can run her fingers through it and it dries straight and not frizzy.  It looks very "beachy".

If I let my hair out in the pool and get out, its this big rats nest that takes about 30 min to comb through.  9 times out of 10 I dont get my hair wet because of it.

  • Good morning. I am the only one in the office today so it is really quiet and I don't really have much to do.  Hopefully I can acomplish some WR stuff.

Last night I made a big poster board with the layout of the venue and put color coded tabs on the tables to do my seating chart.  I am happy with how organized it is and how smoothly things have been going.  Even FI mentioned how surprised he was that I haven't turned into a maniac yet.

Seriously, I don't get why DB is always drawn to the throw rugs to vomit. Our apartment is either wood floor or tile but whenever she want to puke she finds a nice cozy carpeted spot to make her mess.

    I propose a GTG at Blue's pool.
  • Brandi- I cheated with my seating chart.  I told MIL and my mom to decide who from "their list" sits with whom.  I think I ended up deciding on maybe 4-5 tables and where to fill in other tables.  It was a pretty painless process since the way my venue was set up was that 1 side of the dance floor was my family/friends and one side was H's.
