Need a good cry?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSMlIM9zLio

I cried throughout the video..a good 10 minutes.  Especially at 1:30.

I'm such a sap!

Re: Need a good cry?

  • Is this that soldier returning home video?

Because I will not cry for another ten minutes!  That first girl got me going and then I was a mess the rest of the time.

  • The Santa Claus one just killed me.

  • OMG saw this this morning!  So cute.
  • I have this posted on my facebook.  As an Army wife, it really hits home.  It really is a great video, it brings happy tears!
  • Cliffnotes?
  • This video is the PRECISE reason I'd never date or marry a guy in uniform - army, navy, cop, fireman, anything - and not because I don't respect the careers, because I totally do - I just couldn't bare to be apart from him like that.

I have so much respect for the army wives and families though.  God bless you guys!

  • OhyWhyNot, it's basically a 10-minute compilation of soliders' homecomings, and the reunions of fathers/daughters, or husbands/wives, etc.  I can only watch it in halves.  it kills me.

  • It is mostly older brothers and parents of children and their reactions to them surprising them!  Really puts a lot into perspective.

My little brother is in the US Air Force and if he ever surprised me like that, I'd probably faint. :)

  • One of my uncles was deployed for nearly two years, and he had two little boys - I wasn't there for his homecoming but I imagine it went something like the reunions in this video.

And no shiit - nine months after he got home, he had a third son.  :)

  • OK, I didn't cry but because I"m at work and that would be embarrasing. Had I of been alone, yes I would have.

For some reason the little boy in blue around the 5:40 mark really got to me. Damn kids hugging their soldier parents get me every time. I don't know how people do it, I couldn't handle H being gone like that. Props to anyone who can.
  • AATB-That is usually how it happens! :)

  • Lol exactly.

He actually just got out of the army a couple months ago, for good, and we had a party for him.  He gave this really touching speech where he thanked all of us for our support and "most of all, my family - my wife, and two older boys... and I suppose Luke, too, even though he wasn't around for the deployment, I guess he's a result of it!"

  • HAHAHA.  Well, at least the kid will know he was "made" upon daddy's return!

  • I won't lie, I'm really happy that our age difference means that Scott did his time and can't be called back into duty. I don't think I have what it takes to be a military wife. His poor mom had Scott and her husband deployed in combat at the same time. She's a tough one.
