It's generational.

When my mom was little, my grandma would point to heavy women and say, "Look at that fat lady.  She eats doughnuts."  So my mom developed a pretty snotty attitude about food.

I definitely don't look at people and imagine them eating doughnuts, but I just can't eat doughnuts.  They taste disgusting.  I think about them being made and seriously, I could vom.  There is no point to a doughnut.

And I realize how ridiculous I sound because I have no problems eating cake, pie, chocolate or cookies or whatever.  But really, put a doughnut in front of me and I will gag.

Guys I just heard the story I did earlier today on the Romney stop on network - I am SO exited.  I haven't filed a national story in a few years and the last time I did I never got to hear it.  It's cool to think people across the country heard my story.

A couple of years ago, we had a Lt. Col (Air Force) that I dealt with pretty often at work and he was always in uniform and the man was gorgeous. At an after-party he showed up in civilian clothes and when I ran into him at the bar I said "Wow Colonel Lastname, I've never seen you in clothes before."  Yeah, I didn't catch that I had left out civilian but he sure did.  Oops.

There's a fire station around the corner from my house. Often, we'll drive or walk by while they're washing the trucks. H thinks trucks are awesome, so he usually stands there blathering about their engines or ladders or water capacity or something. 

I think inappropriate thoughts about the firemen. In the summer, they sometimes do it shirtless.

The firefighters here do a big fundraiser for.... something. The big fire station was by our old apartment, and they used to hang out on all the corners in uniform (minus shirts) collecting donations. 

Yes, for real. Those were the best commutes home ever.

Dot - something fucked up, and then I have to leave work before I die of exhaustion, but my great-grandma told me once about a relative of hers YEARS ago who died.  They had a funeral for the woman, yada yada, she was buried.  A couple months later the family regretted burying her with all her jewelry, so they had her exhumed.  She hadn't been dead.  Well, she was dead THEN, but she wasn't all the way dead when they buried her.  She'd clawed her way through parts of the lining of the casket and pulled a bunch of her hair out.
