Salvia is legal in a lot of places.  It's legal here.

Any- Salvia isn't really a pot knock-off.  It's not really anything close to pot.  Most of the people I know who smoke pot won't touch salvia with a 20 ft pole.

I just can't get up in arms over a bong, unless she's smoking crack or PCP out of it or something. I also didn't care about Michael Phelps and his bong. Either way, I don't understand how celebrities act all flabbergasted after videos of them doing what some consider to be less than savory stuff get leaked. How about this? Don't let anybody film you. Eh, I don't do drugs and I have a pretty narrow-minded view of them, but I don't really care about it. Most of the people who get all up in arms over it (like the crazy parents who are all "She's a role model! She should ACT LIKE IT!") probably do or used to do the same sh!t anyway. If it truly is salvia and is legal, then what's the big deal?

To me, the big deal is that people freak out and act shocked when someone films them doing something dumb (or could potentially be interpreted as being dumb) and then it gets "leaked" onto the internet.

Granted, it's kind of unfortunate that celebs get so much attention for doing normal, every day stuff (for instance, Tiger Woods...man I hated how much press he got.  Dudes (and women) cheat every freakin' day.  No one makes a spectacle out of them), but it is something that comes with the territory.  I'd like to think if I were famous that I'd always try to conduct myself as if everyone in the world were watching, because lord only knows when they might be.

ETA:  For the record, I completely agree about it not being a big deal if it's legal.  She's a teenager.  She should be able to act like a teenager, and enjoy legal substances and get silly with her friends.  It's the shock and outrage that goes along with it that pushes my buttons.

I could NOT agree more.  My God, she's in the public eye - I know she's young, but she understands how the internet works and how fast shiit spreads these days.

I have a job in the public eye and I know I have to be careful with how I present myself in public - which means I don't need photos or videos of me taking a hit off a bong floating around. 

If you're gonna do drugs, whatever.  But for the love of Christ don't let anyone record the event.  Even if you trust your friend, do you trust that no one will ever get ahold of that camera?  Sonofabitch.
