It's only Tuesday

Re: It's only Tuesday

• Edie, nothing comes out. I've run the vinegar through it before to de-calc or whatever, and that fixed it for a few weeks, but it's clearly reaching the end of its life. I've had it for about 3 years. I don't think I care enough to try and fix it and will just buy a new one.

• I will not be sharing a bed with a baby when we have kids. I would never be able to sleep because I would constantly be worried about rolling over on to the kid or elbowing it in the face. I already do that to the dogs and feel bad enough; at least they can move out of my way though.

• Morning!

I got busy this weekend with school work, failed to menu plan, and now I'm winging it and have no idea what to make for dinner. Somehow I think my H wouldn't be too happy if I announced that my new GF cereal was on the menu for dinner ;)

I'm on a serious golf club search today. I need to fill out my set now that it's official that I'm going to stick with the sport but I'm so darn cheap that I'm having trouble finding what I need at a price I find reasonable. I don't want to spend a lot now because I AM going to buy a nice new set maybe as soon as next spring when I'm a decent enough player to validate it.

Also, I'm so scattered. I want to make some kind of treat today but can't decide on anything. Anyone pin anything good lately?
• I'm fairly certain FSILs 1 year old sleeps with her as well as her 3 year old. The 3 year old maybe isn't every night anymore. I couldn't do that, at least I don't think I could. I too would be worried about squishing it. Who knows, if/when I have kids one day I might think completely different.

Hike, a big aquatic centre just opened down the street from me and I want to join. I keep trying to figure out what I'd wanna do and work up the nerve to doing it. Running and exercise biking always effs my knees so I think I have to.
• Anna- a friend of mine made these WW treats not long ago that are REALLY good. It's cool whip and PB with a chocolate drizzle. You freeze them in little cupcake holders. I'll try to find the recipe for you.

• Nebb- I'm definitely biased because I was on a swim team basically my whole life but it is seriously kick ass exercise. You can even work just on legs or arms if you wanted or everything by doing the whole stroke. You should see if they'd let you try it out for a day and see what you think.

• Those pseudo-cannoli cups look tasty! I'll have to save them though for when I have ricotta and the attention span to make pie crust ;)

They had free swims last week for their grand opening but I don't have a proper suit. They do suggest getting a lesson or two to reteach the basics if you just want to do it on your own so I might do that. This place is literally half a km from my house so until it gets cold out I could also walk to and from which appeals to me.
• Anna, H always finds his golf stuff on ebay- just a suggestion if you are looking to pay less for it.

I used to fake nightmares as a kid to be able to sleep with my parents sometimes. I am sure they knew I was faking. I don't know why I slept with them, it was seriously crowded.
• Good morning, ladies.

I'm still catching up, but BK - could your Mom have Meniere's disease? It affects the inner ear and balance. My GMIL had major issues with it.

OK, this is probably TMI, but peri-menopause SUCKS. I think it's God's cruel joke on women. Yes, you've bled from a major orifice for 25% of your adult life, and yes, you have borne the next generation of humankind, but yes, I'm going to mess with you in a BIG WAY right now. Iwanttodie. sort of. and my OB/GYN (male) just smiles and says 'this can last for two years'. TWO YEARS???? I'm going to hurt someone in the next two years. Maybe my OB/GYN if I can determine he is responsible in any way.

Just to clarify, I'm completely joking about hurting anyone, ever. But how I feel right now blows in a fantastic way.

• I love to swim. I think it's the best workout there is and it's one I'm actually pretty good at. Our neighbors always say I can go and swim in their pool but I feel too weird doing laps where people can see me.

I want a pool, but I don't. They are such a PITA to maintain.

I think that you should go to the doctor. My sisters H had them not to long ago, He went and yes, they gave him pain meds, but they also gave him this powder stuff to mix in water to drink. They told him to drink plenty of fluids, mostly water. Also, they do an ultrasound to make sure there's not anymore. Unfortunately he had several. It took him about a week to pass it. There is some difference between a male passing, and a female, but basically the same concept. Hope you get to feeling better, and that this helped a little.

• Edie- I thought of you the other night when FI and I were watching Idiot Abroad. He went to a Deaf KFC in Egypt. The entire staff was deaf and you just simply ordered by signing or pointing to a menu that was on the counter. It was really cool.

• bah, Les. That sucks. What's going on? (I dont' mind TMI.)

My mom had a biatch of a time with it when she was like 40- basically had her period for 5 months straight until she convinced them to do a hysterectomy. (She already had her tubes tied and had a bunch of other issues. But still.)
• Today sucks.

I am freaking out because we finally got our mail (we had put it on hold since we were on the HM and then out of town) yesterday and guess what wasn't in there? My $500 deposit from our venue. The lady said when we signed the contract that she sends them out the Monday after the wedding so it should definitely be here by now. I'm not afraid that she sent it to my old address and I just got an email like 2 days ago that the forwarding service has stopped from there since it's been a year. If she sent it when she was "supposed" to I should be good but I am just freaking out. Hoping that she just hasn't put it in the mail yet.

Also my foot is bruised to hell because I get stepped on bad by a stilleto at the wedding I was at this weekend.

Stressed, anxious and so so sick of travelling and all things wedding-related. Ugh.

In good news, Prince Fielder won the HR derby yesterday! Goooooooo Tigers!

• Les, that sucks. Did they reccommend any supplements or anything? I have heard of people taking something of the sort for symptoms. I realize this was completely unhelpful and better left unposted, but I'm posting it anyways.

That's awesome! I don't have a suit made for swimming laps right now either. I'm just going to wear my maternity suit I got from Old Navy.

• Morning ladies! I am off to a rough start. I couldn't find my car key and looked all over. I then found what I thought was the spare, until I ran out of the house and realized it wasn't working for my car. It was H's old spare from a lease he turned in. I finally found my spare, but not my regular key and was late to work because of the hunt. I am just cranky and tired. Also, this mortgage thing is stressing me the hell out and I just want to be in the house already. I cannot wait until we close on the 27th, although I don't mind waiting to make payments.

Sept, baby vibes to keep that lil one baking.

• Ditto what Hike said about swimming. You'll never get a better all-round workout and it's genereally one of the easiest on your joints. Not to mention it's fun :)

I'd love to start swimming again but there's a trade-off. Your skin get's super pale and dry and your hair and nails turn to crap. Maybe after this half-marathon I'll start back up.

[QUOTE]Les I have heard that perimenipause can be worse than menopause for some women. There is nothing they can do to help? That blows, Celtic I love the new sig. Brandi you are almost there. Eek! We went and picked up our marriage license yesterday. There were people there to get married. Apparently you can buy your wedding rings at the courthouse now in CA. Wo knew. It's Tuesday so it's staff meeting day. On the agenda today is reviewing ow the eff we screwed up something as easy as a damn fourth of July BBQ. Then I see the doctor about my knee. Fingers crossed they say I'll be ok and no surgery. The last thing I need is to have to roll down the aisle.

This was my mom too. My mom and grandma went through it in their late 30s, I think (yay, something I get to look forward to). That was when my mom had the uterine ablation, or whatever it's called/spelled, and a few other things done. I want the uterine thing done. No babies for me. I'm gonna ask when I go for my yearly next month.
• Steph - blowing through an Ultra Plus tampon in 2 hours, not making it overnight without an 'accident', etc. This has NEVER been in my reportoire. I was never PMS-y, 28 days on the dot, one light 'heavy' day and 4 relatively light days. Now I'm a raging hormonal b!tch and hemmoraging like a zombie victim. I'm seriously considering the ablation procedure just to make it stop. It doesn't help that there is absolutely no guidance about peri-menopause symptoms and how long they will last.

• Les- that sounds terrible. I am sorry you're going through that.

I wish the gym I go to didn't charge a separate, large fee for the pool. I have some joint issues so swimming would be ideal for me. When we house sat for FBIL last summer I swam every day. I wouldn't want the work of owning a pool myself though, unless i was in a state where I could use it year round.

Dot - keep me posted on your knee, I hope the visit goes well!

One of the doctors I work with is running her own study while we wait for the new person to start. She just got stood up by a patient. While it sucks for her that she wasted all that time I am kind of glad she finally get to see what my life is like!

• Les, that sounds awful. I'm sorry you're dealing with it. I think my mom went through something very similar, and she did end up having the ablation done.
