I have no issues with lots of questions, so long as they're not of the "Have you accepted Jesus as your lord and savior?" , "Are you aware you're a sinner?" variety than I'm cool. Those types of questions will be ignored. I'm having a very typical wedding in every respect except the whole two brides part. If people have a problem with the gays they can shut it

I'm Christian so it bugs me when other believers make us all look like nutjobs.  Like they conveniently forget that Jesus was the only one who never sinned.

The wedding rules are diminishing anyway. Mine was untraditional in a lot of ways. But we make it work and I think it was really well received.

I figured it out, thanks ladies. I'm not religious, I have nothing but respect for religion so long as those who are respect different beliefs or lack there of. I was raised protestant, and like AATB said, it's upsetting to see people who claim to be Christian behave in a way Jesus would not be down with. I have gotten into it with crazy bible thumpers with the whole homosexuality debate, but those people are a) ignorant and b) irrational and often times c) inbred so I try not to waste me breath. I know there's nothing wrong with who I am, I know I didn't choose to be this way, I accepted it a looong time ago. I'm out to my family and friend and some co-workers (work is tricky, I just don't talk about it and if asked a direct question I answer honeslty b/c I stopped lying about who I am years ago).

My FI is Catholic. We've been trying to find a Francescan priest to marry us, and it's not easy. It hurts and upsets her that the Roman Catholic church will not bless our union and fucking pisses me off. The good pope (as she would say) admited that homosexuality isn't a choice so therefore God made us this way and should the church then want us to be happy? I could go on and on but I digress.

COLOR - I want hot pink, she wants light blue, we'll probably go with lavendar. I like lavendar, cream and raspberry (just in the flowers). She hates shopping so I will wear her down to the "I don't care just pick one" point so I get what I want ; )

I love the idea of hot pink too but my FI said no.  He also said no to lavender (the bastard).  So, we're going with teal/kiwi green.  I finally got him to the "I don't care" point.  Well worth the time it took to get there.

KCull, if you want to find a church for you and your FI, I would check out interdenominational or Unitarian churches if you haven't already. I attend an interdenom and many gay couples attend as well as Catholics and people of other religions. Your FI might like something like that because you would be accepted and she can still--in a way-- practice her faith.
